Unravels

Funny summary of conversation with a friend today while I was waiting to get my car smogged.

I have joined the ranks of Buell owners, I like my new bike (newish stock 09 Uly), but it gets so hot I dont want to ride it when it is hot out. Well any sort of riding which lasts long enough to heat soak the seat. Which is kind of disappointing. Im ATGATT so that is not the problem. This thing just gets flippin hot, even when its not that hot out. So when it does get hot here in CA, was over 95 for the last couple of days, makes it hard to volunteer to go play with your expensive toy. So, if you own one you can see my dilemma.

Was telling (whining to) a friend of mine what I would have to do to make it ridable, i.e. heat blankets (probably not a good idea), heat barrier on inside of frame rails (should have been factory), ceramic coat headers (again factory), right side scoop (controversial but again factory), etc... Was explaining how I would do the blankets and the scoop as they would be easy bolt on things and probably would not void the warranty, when, he said STOP!!!!?!, dont do any of that! I asked why would I want to do that?

He said your about get married and start trying to have kids, if it gets as hot as you say it does (it does and then some), it will lower your swimmer counts as your nuts are being slow cooked over a long period of time. I again asked why would I want to do that I dont want to hurt myself? (Im a bit slow sometimes)

He responded. Anything on your stuff over 105 F for extended period of time decreases swimmer production. He went on to say once you knock her up the nooky stops for months (he has a kid already), so riding the Buell at least 2 hrs a day will prolong baby making experience, i.e. maybe 6 months vs 3 weeks before conception. Just dont let on why you are riding your bike so much in between nooky. a-ha moment.

And so, the throne of fire, as I have seen someone else call the Uly, serves a double purpose, good winter bike/male birth control.

So, this particular nut roasting/burning habit has a silver lining. Can you imagine explaining this to a fertility doctor?

This will of course offend someone, it will make another person laugh, and life will go on. If you cant laugh at something or make light (spelling) of a situation, such as a bike that gets way too damn hot, your taking life too seriously.

I thought this was funny and thought I should share, and let everyone know that riding a uly that is too hot to touch sometimes can lower your swimmer counts.

I've been warned about the same physical effects but due to vibration and pressure instead of heat.

It would be interesting to see how riders rank with the rest of the population when it comes to infertility or "swimmer count".

So that's why HD has a hard time finding younger riders...

On the other side, with all these heat and vibrations going on makes me really wanna get home soon to see my gf, so less swimmer but more times to hit the bulls eye?

Wow! Most threads start out reasonable and turn to sticky elements that cloud up the message. This one started in the gutter and wants to look up.

It's gonna be a great day!

That would make a good Mythbusters experiment.
Have the guys produce samples then ride for a prolong period and produce another sample.
See if there is a significant reduction in "swimmers"

If they did a "Motorcycle Myths" episode it would fit right in.

maybe we can come up with a bunch of motorcycle myths and send them in as an episode idea.

I'll take this thing right back where it started.... we wouldn't want to get off topic here would we : )

Months????? are you crazy????? Try YEARS. Well it doesn't stop totally, but kids sure do cause a big reduction. And its not just cause of her, its a two way street.... them little buggers take up a TON of time, time that could be used for other much more fun things.

to be a true test there should be an interactive lab and a waiting period... say nine months

MythBusters would do well with a DVD R rated version ; )
