and we all do! DON'T go to a Kawasaki dealer. I ordered a manual and tall windshield a MONTH ago! Still nothing. Was told BOTH were back ordered. (Heck CityXslicker got the manual for my Buell to me from the left coast in less than a week!)

Longest I've ever had to wait on a Buell part was a week and a half. In fact I ordered new pegs (in case I break another one ) last week and they called yesterday to tell me there's in, I'll pick them up tomorrow.

OH well live a learn I guess.

The KLR's a fun little bike BUT when I's time to go hard it's the Buell every time!

There was a time that Buell parts were a problem.

Lots of folks worked very hard.

They are not any longer.

I have a set of KLR manuals if you get in a bind. I keep lots of KLR spares about. . .. (cough, cough . . including 2 frames and motors)

Now Court, those frames and motors wouldn't have had anything to do with a certain Buell bike that never made it to market would they?

Thanks for the offer on the manual help, I'm not in a bind I just try and get and keep the manual on all my "Toys" is all.

Good data. Thank you. I'll communicate.

Nope . . motors and frames are from a pair of KLR's I bought that are going to be a "winter project" . . .just not sure which winter.

I reckon it's not Buell's fault either.

They have to board the mother ship to get here and it docks in Aus first.

I don't like cutting my dealer out of their whack - and I get trade price - but next time I need something urgent it will be off a badweb place.

No probs - only solutions!

Less a question of "fault" than one of responsibility. It's important to look and see what is happening, how it impacts Buell sales, customers, ask what can be done, decide, deploy and execute.

Badweb is a good reference and Buell should aspire to do as well.

Thank you for the input. I've got 4 current Buell tasks in the "to do" hopper and am going to add this.

If it's not in stock in NZ - it has to come from AUS.

If it's not is Aus it has to come Ex-USA.

If that is the case it is shipped to Aus and then forwarded to NZ.

The via Aus trip 'appears' to add 7 to 10 working days.

It has to clear several extra sets of Customs for starters.

The argument the mother ship uses starts and ends with 'volume'.

The national market is very small.

Buell ain't Crusoe, R, in this matter either.

How long does it take to mail a package from the US to NZ?

Usually takes 7-10 days for tee shirts and stuff.

"Volume" is a component of the discussion. It's neither the answer nor sufficient excuse not to do an acceptable job.

I see solutions.

We'll see what can be done.

Any idea how may Buells in NZ?

I find it difficult to accept that, in this day and age when I can get stuff to troops at war in 3 days, that I can't get a brake rotor to NZ in a reasonable time.

But . . . then I'm a construction worker.

I don't know the numbers sorry. It would be an above average market share, but it's only a small number.

There are more people in Sydney than NZ.

>>>There are more people in Sydney than NZ.

Not to worry . . . there are more folks in the CITY I live in than the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma combined.

Our situation needs the same attention yours does and population/sales density, in my opinion, is an inappropriate excuse to hide behind.

It's binary.

You support the product.

or

You don't.

Wanna argue with me? . . . . be mindful, I'm a construction guy.

Ding,Ding,Ding! We have a winner! Could you call my dealer with that gem of wisdom Court? I don't think they've ever heard it before!

Certainly I think cutting a destination out of the process makes better customer sense.

But there are oceans of H2O and red tape to cross that you won't encounter in Kansas, Dorothy*.

(*Construction workers don't scare me. I can display bum crack with the best of them.)

lets go back to America guys I was supposed to get my ULY out of the shop last week for the regular 15 thousand mile service and because of leaky rocker boxes they had to order parts so now I'm looking at by the end of this week to get a call.
I don't think it is the Buell Motor Co I think it is the disorganization I see at some HD dealers. This is a normal thing that has been happening for years and it does suck. K
