Next Saturday my buddy and I are heading down to eastern Tennessee from Ottawa, Ontario. We'll be following Interstate 81 for about a day, then hitting smaller roads for the rest of the trip.

Since prices and selection for accessories are crappy up here, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a place or two near I-81 that has good prices and good selection of accessories. I'd be looking for riding pants (right-thigh heat proof preferably), and maybe even a new helmet since my new Arai seems to be irritating the hell out of my temples...

There are several dealers in and around Knoxville Tn. Just a side note, when I am slabbing it I make a special effort to look up the Buell dealers along my route and try to time gas and bathroom stops at those dealers.

Google Knoxville Tn motorcycle dealers. Should give you a look at whats there.

I can't see myself doing that. The Buell dealers up here are Harley dealers that have a Buell or two on the floor. I have no desire to stop in at a Harley boutique that has more HD clothing and HD branded crap than bikes if I don't have to...

Unless there are more Buell oriented dealers along I-81 that might be more to my liking?

Actually, you'd make MUCH more of a dent if you WOULD stop in those dealerships, shop around and then complain to the owner that you were REALLY interested in buying some Buell schwag but couldn't find what you'd wanted.

That way they KNOW there's a demand for the stuff. If everyone did what you did, NO Harley dealer would bother stocking any Buell stuff because they wouldn't see any demand for it at all...

Well, I don't really want to waste my holiday time going from dealer to dealer telling them what they should stock.

I probably wouldn't buy any Buell stuff anyway, just like I never bought Honda stuff when I had Hondas, or HD stuff when I had an HD - I don't believe in buying stuff just cause it has a particular name on it. I buy stuff if it suits my needs and is good quality for the price. In my experience, that usually happens to be non-motorcycle manufacturer branded stuff...
