Jaimec- is that coming up next week?!?! Dammit, I had been planning on getting my old 82 R65 up on some relevant websites- it's for sale, I REALLY need to sell it for many reasons. I've had it posted on the R65 registry online for several years, but now I gotta get my azz in gear!! If you know of anyone looking for a good ole Airhead, mine's nice- will need a little work, but nothing too serious. More later... | ||

Yeah, my dumbazz put it up in storage several years ago without draining the tank or fuel systems, so that's the first thing to fix- after that, it should run just fine, but it would benefit from new valve seats and a once-over for the final drive. Basically a good "freshening-up" from someone who likes to tinker and has a little talent for it. I love the old bike, just don't have the time or need to own three bikes, and I'd love to see it go to someone who can appreciate it and do justice by it- these old airheads should be kept rolling down the road. We need more beauty in this world, eh? I'll be off Saturday, so my tentative plan is to head up early with the R65 on the back of my truck, hopefully with a little spit-polishing accomplished. Youn's let me know, mebbe we can catch up with one another up yonder. PS- Delbert McClinton will be a great show! I won tickets a few years back to go see him live at the Tennessee Theatre in downtown Knoxvegas- what a great performer and songwriter. Don't miss him if youn's can help it. I've heard on good advice that a restaurant in Chuckey, TN called The Farmer's Daughter is a great place to put on a feed bag. 7700 Erwin Hwy, Chuckey, TN. Not been there, but somwhow I got a flier. Hope to see you guys there. 'squids, you'll probably get more $$$ for the bike if you can start it up and ride it. Admission is $45 for nonmembers, so why not come up after work on friday, stay the weekend, and get your moneys worth? | ||

You're correct, grrl,- It'll be a challenge to get it running before then, unless I can enlist some help. Shouldn't take much, but I know my limitations as a wrench. Mebbe I can contact some folks... Other than Delbert McClinton, what's the weekend's itinerary? I believe I'll know some buddies heading up there... Won't make it any earlier than Saturday morning unless I give up my shift Friday PM.
