Went to the RI Air Show yesterday and thought I would share some of my pictures. I'm McLovin this new camera. If anyone wants any of these in high res, PM me. Bonus Question at the end.
BONUS QUESTION: Can anyone name this formation?

My guess--the Photoshop Formation! Seriously, though, those are some outstanding shots. I especially liked the underbelly pics of the F-22 with payload doors open. That's a nice lens you have there. |

OOOOHHHH!!! Artsy airplane pictures!!!! Here's my contribution of a beached seaplane on Indian Lake in the Adironacks (Jim, this is the same lake we stopped at to pee and decided to head back to Sacandaga when you all were in town).

I’ve seen the blue angels twice. It’s amazing when they come by out running there own sound. I’ve been boating/camping on Indian Lake. Beautiful place. Great photography. 3 great topics. What kind of camera took those pics? |

That brings back some memories. I liked the C-130. I flew on a 130 (OIF) and RJ-135 (Desert Storm). My favorite remains the 130 for the type of work I did. When I would jog around the flight line at Osan AB, Korea I got real close views of the A-10's landing. They are impressive aircraft. One good thing about living ear an Air Force base (3 of them) we get to see all kinds of neat aircraft during the AF Academy graduations. No Blue Angles though LOL. Thanks for the pics. |

Sifo wins the bonus. I thought they were calling it the Heritage Formation but it might have been the Heritage Flight. Dunno for sure but it was cool seeing those planes fly with each other. That F22 was my favorite plane out there, 2nd was the Warthog. Nothing sounded like that F22, simply amazing. I was shooting with my Nikon D90 with a 70-300 lens. I just kept shooting and by the end of the day I looked and to my surprise I had taken over 2500 pictures. |

How does the P-51 keep up with the jets? Didn't think the jets could hardly go that slow........ with the P-51. |

I think the P51 was capable of horizontal speeds of 400+ knots, and in a dive it was capable of speeds approaching the sound barrier...but the pilots usually pooped in their pants. The jets are capable of stable subsonic speeds, but I don't really know what the stall speed for each is. Damn, the F-22 is huge! |

My first three years in the Air Force I was a F111 crew chief, now I'm in Satellite Communications. I only worked on the EF once or twice but I was q'd off on the D, EF(G) and the F models. The we're great aircraft and truly flying pigs. |

Just saw this pic. Thought it was pretty cool... Short story about the pic... http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/US-Air-Force-US-Navy -flight-deck/photo//090629/ids_photos_ts/r36262696 04.jpg//s:/livescience/20090630/sc_livescience/wha tsupersoniclookslike Gunut75, I can get up there almost anytime given a days notice. Weekend or weekday. Weekends I usually will have my wife tagging along on her Sporty. A weekday would work great for me right now if you can do it. |

After a hurricane wiped out a good portion of Pensacola's air station, the company I worked for rebuilt all the audio visual systems. One of the coolest places to work. Every wednesday the Blue Angels would practice and we were basically right off the runway...really kick ass. |

That looked like a hell of an air show. I've been to many, but I've yet to see an F22. Great pics! |

F22's are huge and along with the B2 make the coolest sound. The B2 is so cool because of how quiet it is until it is past you. Would love to see the Blue Angels but they haven't come up to the EAA in years. Had a F14 one year pull up near vertical directly in front of us from about 75ft off the tarmac and go full afterburner up and out of site in less than 10 sec. That was cool you could feel the warmth of the jet blast when he pulled up thats how close we were. Now they don't come that close but it was cool "back in the day". |
