I would really like to experience 200lb./ft. of torque at any speed.

Holy cow!

0-60 in 3 seconds
125mph
100 mile range (gotta be at least 60 in the real world)

and a 45 minute charge time! That one has me puzzled. I wonder what kind of battery can produce that much power and charge back to full in 45 minutes under normal house electricity loads.

I didn't bother looking to see if there's a price. I already know that it's a "If I win big in the Lotto" thing.

Metalstorm, that's 45 minute QUICK charge time. I'm not sure exactly what that means but to me it sounds like either not normal household electricity, or not a full charge.

My guess, based on other ridiculous claims from other manufacturers, is that its 45 minutes to 80% charged, and you need to be struck by lightning.

I have been reading about quick charging batteries. They have a very low internal resistance.

Supposedly phone batteries will charge in a couple of minutes and the cars will be very quick too.

I wonder when you will see parking meters with receptacles on them. Kind of like up North where they do it for engine heaters.

You're going to need some pretty heavy duty hook ups to push that much energy that fast. I'm not sure a 220 line in your house is going to do it. I understand that those batteries can release energy just as fast too. Some mechanics and first responders aren't to excited about getting that kind of jolt. Electric motors are an interesting way to drive a vehicle though. Tons of torque at zero rpm to launch you like you wouldn't believe!

It's a start.
I can remember not too long ago, a 20" flat screen was $10,000.

I've dealt with a several very smart battery engineers over the years. The battery in your cars most like have parts I helped design and build the tooling for.

We could all switch over to electric cars and such tomorrow, but the problem, as it has been told to me, is we just currently do not have enough infrastructure to handle the load that would create.

Bet they really "hum" along nicely. Not for me. Too old school. I want to hear AND feel my ride. Maybe I could put a playing card next to the spokes if it has any. LOL But the future is here it seems. Wonder what the cost of replacement batteries are? Good looking bike also. Bob

Range 100+ miles, top speed 125 (limited)
So, you can flatten the thing in less than an hour, then you have to wait a minimum 45 mins before you can go any where else.

I'd reckon the target market is Hollywood "celebrities" with a green image, to park next to their Lexus SUV hybrid & the maid's Prius.

But hey it's got a Pull-Shock so it must be good, mustn't it?

My big question with electrics like this is the range. 100 miles? Is that like my lap top is supposed to run for 2 hours on it's battery. I get like 20 minutes before it dies. I have doubts that it would go 100 miles riding with my Buell! Electrics may fit for a certain segment of the population, but they are not for me.

I don't see them selling alot of these if the "Climate" Bill gets through. Most Americans household monthly electric bill is supposed to double or tripple idn't?

I would still rather have a Honda super cub.

http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-news/honda- super-cub.htm

or a ruckus.
http://powersports.honda.com/2008/ruckus.aspx

The cost/benefit on those is crazy compared to that rich guy's "green" toy.

If they want to get serious about developing electric vehicles they need to start some serious racing events. I'm not sure about the excitement of a 45 minute fuel stop though.

Seriously though, if there's potential here racing is the way to get the engineering done, not by passing laws saying it will be done.

You fail to realize they will swap batteries like tires. Even some non racing electric vehicles have the battery swapped in seconds.

They claim to have regenerative braking, but has a standard disc up front where most of the braking happens. I bet staying off the front brake plays heavily into the 100 mile range. It does set a benchmark to be beaten by the next contender though. Personally I think an electric scooter would make more sense. A short range commuter could sell, but it would still have to be cheap.

Sifo there is supposed to be at least 2 different electric motorcycle series next year. If I remember right there was also supposed to be one this year at the Isle of Mann TT. Never heard how it went over though. Its coming fast

They turned a quickest lap of around 25min and the superbikes were around 17-18min. So not the same speed but still respectable.
