I just discovered earlier today that Char is planning on a trip to God's Country - Newfoundland in Early July.

hey check this link out. this motel is 1/4 mile from lake lawn and it has good prices. I just reserved my room. And told them there motel may get taken over.
heres the prices...these price are for 1and 2 person ocupency. and these are with taxes included.and the rate doesn't jump for the weekend days.
1 double $62.36/day
1 queen $73.71
1 king $79.45
2 doubles $73.71 $5 a day extra for occupency over 2 people.

its right on the beech and has swimming for those interested.

89.00 per night for two people with two queen size beds.

Bubba, it's only a $15 savings (7.50 if you split the cost with someone and share), not that much in the grand scheme of things, when you consider Lakelawn is right there, and very nice !!

Your worth it, spend a little extra and treat yourself !!

Now camping is a big savings if that's what your looking for !!

Brian...you would have been better sharing a room with someone at Lake Lawn. That place you booked is not what I'd call "nice". You have some good amenities at Lake Lawn (indoor & outdoor pools, boat/jet ski rentals, golf, spa, etc, etc, etc). It's worth the couple of extra $$$.

If anyone has questions on local lodging, give me a shout. I spent the better part of 10 years living in that area.

I've got to agree with CJ and Dennis. Some of us are camping and part of the reason is to save money. But there is also the whole camping experience. Having a campfire, sleeping in a tent. If I was going to stay at a hotel I'd just stay at Lake Lawn. Their price for this event is not bad. You won't be saving a huge amount of money staying someplace else.

well thanks but heres the deal....I am paying for the rooms all by my lonesomes. The prices I gave were with the tax included. lake lawn with taxe comes to $101 per night. so over the 3 nights this is saving me $60 bucks.
also don't forget I have the expenses of getting there in the first place. also remember I am a simple guy with simple needs. I don't want to pay for the chance to have an indoor pool, boat and jetski crap...I would think I'll be riding, Spa do I look like a guy that frequents a spa.all that stuff.
and yes I am bringing my ex girl with me. we are used to seedy hotels...Infact our first glorious night together years ago was not in what some would call one of the finer establishments....thats the kinda atmospher I prefer.
But thanks for telling me, I figured it wasn't the ritz but then I ain't lookin for the ritz.
I'll tell ya what raise the extra $60 bucks for me and I will cancel where I am at and come join ya all. otherwise.....remember I sell buells...I ain't gettin rich

Tires... don't remind me. I still have Black ones on my bike. Even though I ordered them in November, I could have lost 30 pounds with all the run around I have gone through with this company. Final result is I still have no tires and projected date I will recoive them. So much for the colored burnouts.
