How about one of these? Honda DN 01

You tried one yet Dave? I'd be interested in your views, it's the only Honda for many years that has made me go "hmmm yes I could fancy that."
A good friend has tried one & reckoned it was a nicer ride than his Electra & he's a HD fella through & through.

If Honda merges the VFR and the ST1300 into the same platform, ala what BMW did for the K1300gt, and K1300s. I will be HIGHLY tempted.

My curiosity is service costs. The existing VTEC VFR has brutal valve adjustment costs.

"How about one of these? Honda DN 01"
The DN01 is one of those bikes I just don't get... Is it a big scooter? Is it some sort of futuristic mobile dentist chair? Is it a car minus two-wheels?

For a lot less money, the Aprilia Mana 800 is a LOT more motorcycle if you're REALLY considering an automatic motorcycle. That DN-01 is USELESS. Not even enough luggage space to pack a condom for crying out loud!

I just had my ST1300 in for a valve check (too busy to do it myself). 2hrs. labor & 4 plugs = $270. Not bad for 35,000mi. and still in spec. The writer said that the flat rate was 5hrs. for shims.

A guy on the VFR board says that his is still in spec at 80,000mi. I just rode around NW Arkansas on the VFR and as nice as that bike is, I really miss the torque.

Looks like a futuristic version of the one Honda used to have...the Pacific Coast! It still has hints of being a scooter...

Why do people always go on about valve adjustments? I just did one on my KZ and it was literally a 15 minute job. (if you have the shims on hand) Took less time then changing the plugs on my XB. Granted my bikes 30yo and probably has less plumbing then these newer crotch rockets. Is it that hard to remove the valve cover on these modern beast? Honest question. I don't know.

Not even enough luggage space to pack a condom for crying out loud!
This was funny but makes me very sad. Obviously Jaimec's condoms take up a lot more room then mine do.

I still think an XT will be my next sport tourer. (or a ulyblast lol)

Mike, there aren't any shim/bucket engines easier to adjust than a stock KZ...if you have the little curved tool it's a snap.
