I don't know if this is what Froggy is referring to but, they had on one of the BMC engineers and he stated flatly that, paraphrase, "there are some interesting things going on with Buell racing coming up, stay tuned". That will probably lead to all kinds of speculation now, won't it? Could lead to yet another "what if" thread here on BadWeb. stop being such a tease Froggy, LOL Bob

"wants to participate in the highest levels of racing"

"will be jumping into new waters"

"specifically mentioned World Super Bike"

I did find in interesting and exciting that Dave M. mentioned the "W word". . .

. . . but with a 200 year plan, you'd have to think it would be in there somewhere. The question is: "When?"

I'd think a serious AMA Superbike effort will come before WSBK.

Oh, and did anybody notice the radiators at about the 38th second point in the second part? Some Canadian Superbike photos have showed those radiators and they were mentioned in another article, but we got a real good look at them in that video.

And that is the attitude you need to bring to racing. "We are going all the way!"

So anybody seen that new V4 buell or a 1200RR? I have saving a spot in the garage for one. Right now there a few Italians placing bids on that space.

Speaking about radiators:

I over heard a conversation @ Road America about the buell having some over heating problems.

More aerodynamic set-up = over heating

Non-over heating set-up = too slow in the str8s.

Knowing how responsive buell is, I am not surprised to see some new Lobster claws being fitted to the race bikes.

The only solid info I have got about new models points to a new version of the 1125r with LED break lights and a new configuration on the cooling system.

In the latest round of Canadian Superbike, Crevier seemed to have a more traditional radiator set-up (you can see one of the more experimental variations in the background of the photo).

Crev

I'm guessing they found a way to get better cooling with the more traditional lay-out. The bike he ran last round may have a cooling system similar to the 2010 version.

. . . and speaking of attitude, I love Steve's quote here: "That's where I should be," he said, pointing at the podium. "That's where we're headed."

Like I said, nothing new. Seems to me I recall someone on here boo-hoo'ing the email Erik Buell sent to the Aprilia rider where he mentioned developing a superbike.

Think bigger.

And . . . look very closely at that video . . . with a critical and challenging eye.

Ask yourself . . . . "what, where, when and how".

If you need to get yourself in the right frame of mind . . . start at the first and watch the gait of Erik's step heading to the barn . . . . ask yourself if that looks like someone content to settle for 2nd place? I was in the bushes and from the resounding applause he got from the group touring the barn . . . I think some folks "saw the light".

I said . . . as some of you recall. . . following the Daytona XBRR intro (at a time when the pundits were tolling the Buell death noll) that "Buell will be one of the major names in worldwide motorcycle racing in 5 years".

My timing may have been off . . . . . . . but not much.

I say anymore I'll get my mouth washed out with coolant . . so I'll leave you one word.

Watch.

What I took away:
He found some people that got the entertainment part.
Why do I get the vision of massive displacement at less weight than anyone else has ever done it?
He got burnt building to fit in their box with the first bike. Seams like he will build a bike that they can come to.
Am I getting warm Court?
