I got a call from the claims adjuster and it seems they are willing to give me $8500 (after the $250 deductible) for my '06 Uly with the side cases. Seemed fair enough so I didn't squawk. Went to the doctor yesterday and xrays show everything healing OK but he warned me to wait another 6 weeks before I do anything. This gives me plenty of time to decide if I want to buy a used Uly on the cheap or get a new one (Court's bike with the Outdoorsman bags looks trick). While I've been convalescing, my younger brother/business partner has been riding my Road Glide. He's a sport bike/track day kind of guy but his girlfriend really likes the RG with the tour pac and sundowner seat, etc. So he comes to me with this scheme - "You know, if you give me the Road Glide you could get one of those new Tri-Glides that Harley has. Run it through the company and we'd be close to even. Oh, and you need to sell your dirt bikes too. I gave those up a couple of years ago." So I'm thinking to myself "A tricycle? He wants me to get a f'n tricycle? Why don't I just lay down and let them throw dirt on top of me right now?" Out loud I said "Yeah, I'll have to think about that." It been a couple of days now & I still don't know what to say to that. Although I did consider a sidecar for the RG but the wife said she wouldn't ride in it. I just wish I had my old bike back and hadn't mangled myself last month. While we're at it, wish I was 40 years old again too. | ||
