A thread inspired by a desire to see properly named threads.

I happen to like okra, but it doesn't matter.

Did anyone else get reminded about the National telemarketing block for your cell phones. Like the home phones a few years ago, it lasts for five years. If you don't do it you will be paying to be marketed by your cell company if you open the messages or answer the calls.

Interesting okra trivia, badwebbers proned to morning-after stress/regret may want to take note...okra contains the male contraceptive gossypol.

Not only is it delicious and nutritious, but it's got ya back, too!

Like squash, pumpkins, and watermelons, it makes a great item to toss over your fence into the neighbors yard when it rots after the season ends. If they don't clean it up they will have some to toss back the next year.

But this thread isn't even about okra. Although okra is special, for sure!

The National Do Not Call for telemarketing blocking is 888-382-1222. I just had all my family and friends do it. The autodial telemarketing is allowed starting next month sometime.

I always order fried okra when i see it at a restaurant and I'm always disappointed when i get some over-breaded, flash frozen, deep fried waste of okra.

The only proper way to eat okra is when it is home grown, lightly breaded and fried in a cast iron skillet by your mother or grandmother.

I am sure that every brother will appreciate and fully acknowledge this properly titled post.

Capital letters are a nice touch, for legibility, though some think it is unnecessary "shouting".

But to get entirely serious for a moment, the very mention of the word Okra must bring to mind one of our most beloved, handsome, and sensitive brothers, whose identity is, or should be, known to every bad ass, okra eating, Buell riding mother's son.

"...okra contains the male contraceptive gossypol..."

That explains why Okra tastes like a spermicide. Neither one is going in my mouth.

Okra is originally from Africa.

Despite this fact, it still tastes like crap.

Notice the blue plastic wristband, indicating that the hand holding the okra belongs to an escapee from a mental hospital.
If you see this man call the authorities, DO NOT eat his okra.... you don't know where it's been.

He didn't escape from a mental facility. He just took a side trip to Appleton from the Buell Homecoming. Ok, mental facility, Buell Homecoming, could be considered very similar.
