I have noticed lately a lot of threads have either too simplistic, or have misleading thread titles.
Can we start to make an effort to accurately title the threads.
It would make it much easier for those of us who can't spend all day here, have workplace internet restrictions, or would like to avoid political threads (a little goes a long way). I suspect it might help the moderators here (correct me if I am wrong)
If your thread is political in nature can you tag the title with: (Political)
I hate the "Check this out!" titles that leave you wondering, until you've opened it, if it's a photo of a fat guy with 5 nipples or a new aftermarket exhaust that can increase power 30%.
I guess the idea is that it will get people to click, but it has the opposite effect on me. I figure if its really something worth seeing the author will give us an idea of what we're clicking on.
And I probably miss out on some cool things because of that.
so just to be clear, you want a clear and precise title, but yet you start this thread with a generic title. wtf?
titles for threads are about attention getting. just like the news. if i make a title very precise then you wouldn't need to read it, since everything would be in the title.
i mean really, when i see a title that starts with, "OMG, you have to see this" i'll open it, be like, yep seen it before, then close the thread. so i wasted about 15 seconds. more important things in life to get spun up over.
so, from now on titles clear, threads vague...GOT IT!!!
Monkey: I see your point, but hey, it's the Quickboard. I got going on the "Barber" thread, thought it was about the museum/track when it wasn't, then I just decided to hijack it for fun. Everyone gets a yukety yuk.
