Yea that pretty much sums it up. When I need a good cup of pissed off I just watch olberman and maddow. Those two are like clones of each other aside from appearance.

Here is another one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6urw_PWHYk

The clip just confirms matt damon is a big turd.

Interesting that the presenter in the video made the point that skin color had nothing to do with his connection between Obama and the fictional representation of the Persian king in 300.

After all, Alexis de Tocqueville wouldn't have had a problem with someone pointing out the inherent inferiority of black people.

"The most formidable of all the ills that threaten the future of the Union arises from the presence of a black population upon its territory; and in contemplating the cause of the present embarrassments, or the future dangers of the United States, the observer is invariably led to this as a primary fact."

I just thought that was funny and it was a good reminder to not let other people do your thinking for you.

Though Matt Damon might not have been the most articulate, I didn't disagree with anything he said.

President Palin?

Hey ...where was Jane fonda, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon's pic in the intro of the 1st video?? They suck too!

Matt D:
He says he doesn't know "anything" about her, then states she was mayor, then gov of alaska for less than 2 years. I wonder what he actually knew about Doh-bama at the time? He used an actuarial table?? Who the freak does that? WTF? What a dipshit.

Talk about spreading hate.

Just thought it was an interesting video.
I'm neither republican, nor democrat.
I have beefs with both parties!
Bush spent like a drunken sailor, and Obama is showing the world he can spend even more.
Bush grew government, Obama is showing the world he can grow it bigger and faster.
I'm no fan of either.

Palin is getting a bad wrap, pure and simple. Regardless of her affiliation, lies are lies.

seems like the custodians of a Buell Motorcycle site have decided to turn it into their own personal conservative political site.
So only non-custodians can have an opinion, or post thought provoking media?
If you're so into this being a non-political-site, why are your politics showing?

Pretty damn sad. But not surprising in the least.
Ouch! You've hurt my feelings!

Must have bad weather down there in the deep south.
Great weather here, just got back from a ride, and it looks like there's gonna be a pretty big showing tomorrow.

I was shocked to see political posts as well,... i guess its ok as long as they stay out of the bike area's. I feel all warm inside now that I know I am in the majority here. And that is slowly reflecting all over the usa.

As long as I have been reading and posting here I have been acutely aware of the extreem rightness of this forum. The only thing I worry about is being seen by the watchers and getting a visit from the attitude police, just for posting here now and then.
But then again, I'm no where near as conservative as some of you. Being out here in the wild wild west we don't need to be.

I'm usually not political.
I can usually roll with the punches, and I can handle being called a kook for being Libertarian.
But, what's going on now a days really scares me.
It's simply unsustainable, and my dearly loved freedoms seen to be shrinking daily.

So Matt Damon is worried about having someone in the number 2 slot who has done a good job as mayor of a small town and become a popular governor of AK. This would be actual experience at running government and keeping a budget. Instead we put someone in the number 1 slot who has zero experience running anything. Ohhh the irony!

"They told me if I voted for Palin we'd have an idiot for VP. They were right."

Bush spent like a drunken sailor, and Obama is showing the world he can spend even more.
If Bush spend like a drunken sailor (and he did) then BO is the fleet on leave!

What irritates those with leftist tendencies is that BW DOES have a more right bent generally.

Which is in stark contrast to the vast majority of the OTHER motorcycle or other bulletin boards out there in the ether.

I tend to be out numbered about 20 to 1 everywhere else based upon political ideologies. Want to be in the majority? There are plenty of other places having political conversations where no one will question leftist ideologies.

Find one of them.

"Want to be in the majority? There are plenty of other places having political conversations where no one will question leftist ideologies."

Talking politics in a forum where everyone agrees with you is like intellectual masturbation.

I like arguing politics with FB because I like the challenge.

I get the impression that FB likes being challenged.

About the only thing that I find irritating is when the mighty hand comes down and tells us(mostly me)to play nice.

Then again, I understand the rules and even that limitation usually forces me to make a better or more carefully phrased argument.

There have been several more liberal members of this community who have bailed when they have made their points too strongly and found themselves under the gun.

To me that's weak.

If your beliefs aren't strong enough to wear them openly and argue them strongly, then they obviously aren't beliefs that you hold very seriously.

The creators of "Team America, World Police" actually LIKE Matt Damon. I too think he is a really good actor, ( unlike his former partner, who's acting ability is mentioned in a song in the same movie ) but like many actors, he is immersed in a fantasy culture, and has the same right to spout off on politics as I do, just a bigger audience.

The reason they made him look stupid in the movie, was the puppet was finished, they didn't have time to make a new one, and IT looked so stupid they just went with it, despite their respect for him as an actor.

It must have been scary for someone taught what he was taught about politics, in Hollywood, to think about an actual human being being President. Poor fellow.

I mostly agree with the PJTV clip, and yep, you betcha, Alexis was a product of his times. Glad they are over. If you have a problem with using the writings of such an ancient racist to make a point, or suggest a course of action, recall that the current admin. is using the teachings of other ancient racists to guide their path. Marx, Geobbels, Mao, etc.

I LOVE a good political debate. I really enjoy the exchange of ideas and the back and forth. It challenges the participants to defend their positions and think about them more deeply than the normal surface contemplation usually granted to the ideal.

What I dislike is people complaining about a board being too "right wing". Really? Do I complain when I go to Advrider.com and 90% of the folks there are left? The reason it's like that is that the people who own and run the board are left and they attract people of the same ideology. It isn't bad. It doesn't need changing. It's just the belief system of more of the people there than in other places. Same thing for BW.

Additionally, I dislike people who chime in on obviously political threads bitching about how they hate political threads. Don't like it, don't read it. I don't bother reading "right side scoop" threads any more. It isn't worth my mental energy. I don't post up about how silly it is to have RSS threads. I just don't read.

Finally, I dislike people who refuse to have honest political debates. If one wants to throw political hand grenades and personal attacks at other people, your political debater license gets revoked temporarily and then permanently. It's that simple. It isn't JUST because people have a different view point than the "owner". It's that they have a view point and refuse to have an adult debate and defense of that viewpoint and instead begin attacking board members and the "owner".

There is a certain member here who frequently chooses to participate in political discussions but refuses to answer direct questions within the debate. Refuses to clearly state his position, and instead chooses to bob and weave around the discussion. Either debate with intellectual honesty or don't engage.

I choose to post very direct defenses for my position. I don't dance around the issue. I don't refuse to answer direct questions. I don't refrain from posting my sources. I don't talk past my political counterpart.

All that I ask is that others who choose to participate do the same.

i agree with most of the political post's on here being a right of center person.

i'm stationed in korea right now so the only view of whats going on back in the states is the media. i read all the news sites(left and right) and try to figure whats correct(thats too is difficult) because both sides reach to get their point across.

example, i've had no less than 50 emails asking if i was ready to go to war with n. korea. they kept hearing on the news that we were on high alert after the "nuke test". REALLY, i said back to them. all my real world gear is sitting in my closet ready to go, but "high alert", no not even close.

i don't really know what my point is, but i think if the US is on a downward spiral, which i think it is, its not only going to be the fault of the govt. in power right now. it will be helped by the media and their doom and gloom reports scaring most of the americans into panic setting off another crisis of some kind.

being military, i have to follow orders of those appointed over me, unless they are unlawful. i don't agree with everything that the govt. is doing right now but i'm sure the majority of regular people of the brits, french, romans, egyptians, and russians of their respective times didn't agree with their leaders when they let their counties go to crap, but what could they do? what could they do?

WE have the power to get our country back to greatness, but it only takes a handful to make it collapse. we've only been a power house country for what, 230+ years. if we lose our grip, we'll just be a blip in history. i don't want to go out like that.

sorry for the rambling, i'm a lot tired!

We should be very happy that Obama is in power. I know I am.

Instead of moving towards socialism on a slow boil, sneaky as it were, happening while we were busy and did not notice, the Obama administration is clear about a fast track to socialism. I see it you see it.. It is clear. None of the sneaky tactics ... a bill here a bill there..

It is written in the sky. Not socialism by attrition - socialism at warp speed.

When a direction is set that clearly and it is against the will of the majority of the American People it becomes easy to start identifying with the American values and the constitution.

The choice is this..

Do you support politicians that promises to support you and by their gift take your power and independence away 1)?

Or do you support politicians that get out of the way and let you succeed in your endeavors 2).

For me, the Obama administration has made the choice crystal clear.

1) Enacting policies to support Health Care, regulating energy, taking over industry and banks, trampling on the law of the land (Ch11 proceedings for Chrysler and GM)exacts a toll in terms of future precedence and cost. Business and industry only becomes more corrupt when driven to navigate by government mis-directed policies.
2) Free market forces does find a natural equilibrium between supply and demand. Legislation to direct it otherwise only makes services and goods more difficult to obtain and at a higher price.

Oh, maybe this wasn't the topic..

Well, Glitch said "Discus"

Ok, I guess it's not "Marx, Geobbels, Mao, etc." My bad.

It's Wright, Alinsky, etc.

I call "Autocrat" a bit too easily, perhaps. Sorry.

It does seem like there is suddenly multiple national level power grabs on the car industry, banking industry, Stock market, and health care complex, that looks to me like a major swing toward "lefty" "progressive" or "nanny state" policies.

When the previous jerk in the White House spent way too much money on what are widely thought to be "failures" such as "no child left behind" and the Prescription drug program that is quite expensive & badly designed, I was unhappy.

I think the current crop is even worse, but it is early to see how bad they will be.

Doerman,
I'm not sure a agree... hmm. Having a society go through hard times because of bad ideology may indeed cause a swing towards a better one. I'm concerned that the hard times may not do that, since self serving elitists don't really care if we suffer as long as they get more. A pessimistic view of human nature perhaps, but I think an accurate one.

I despise whiners. Displaying a preference for vague whining and/or personal commentary in lieu of thoughtful discussion of the issues is pure and simple intellectual dishonesty; it is inconsiderate, rude, dishonorable, and VERY disrespectful. That type of behavior, no matter which side of a debate it might be from, will never be enabled here.

If you post prodigiously and the clear majority of your contributions here are to political threads or include political commentary, then you probably ought to find a different forum to satisfy your partisan zeal.

I cannot say it any better than Jeremy. Thanks Ft_B.

Again, whiners suck. Don't be a whiner. Instead try something novel, thoughtful discussion of actual issues based upon respectful give and take of information including actual evidence to support your position.
