OK, what's up with this one? Seller has auctions for new in-the-crate XB9's and XB12's, both R and S models, all for $7300 BIN. Here's one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2463273515&categor y=49985

I don't see any of the dead giveaways for stolen eBay I.D.'s- no "pre-registered bidders only", sellers feedback is all on motorcycle sales and motorcycle related items.

OK, I give up. It's got to be a rip off, but is there anything to give it away other than an insanely low price (on the 12's)?

Hugh

Hey guys I believe this is a valid offer. I just got a reply from Bridgeport Harley Davison in regards to the auction. XB12 shoppers should jump on the Buy Me Now price -- sorry Brian and Daves.

If they were a true blue harley dealer, they would do what you and Dave do, and try to make harley a big success in thier venture to expand the product line. Hard to believe people that love harley would want to sabatage the company that pays their bills and retirement...

Glitch,
You have no idea of what goes on in some companies. I'll say no more lest the primered black van try to pay me a little visit.
Pick up one of the current moto-mags and read the Salvadori article on dealerships and profit margins and internet sales, and don't forget to read between the lines when you do. Not sure what mag it was in though, I was just grazing and killing a few minutes.

Couple decades?!

They're already there man. HD is the Abercrombie of the Babyboomers. Go out any nice weekend in Houston and look at all the shiney Harleys'and their owners with the Harley jackets, Harley T's, Harley boots, Harley sunglasses. Hell they probably have Harley F----N underwear on.

And what's a set of knee sliders go for? I think a call to Dennis Kirk for a few of them and 10 minutes in the garage with a belt sander is in order...

And yeah, dealerships that sell bikes on eBay suck. Granted it's cheap, but I'd rather pay a few bucks extra to deal with a salesman who gives a shit rather than a dealership that just wants to dump a few bikes.

When it comes time to get my 12, I'll be calling Bubba or Dave, not cruising eBay.

buckinfubba, if they are selling these bikes below the dealer cost, why dont you buy them up and sell them at your shop? i am not in the business, and i have an XB, so i dont need them.
sounds kinda fishy though. later, dean

Alright!!

I needed a good laugh after see the photos in another thread. I'd like to meet the seller of Squid link!!

Isn't it amazing, that there are so many bidders after the guy basically belittled anyone who bids on them besides the almost 16,000 click throughs!!

This guy sounds alright to me, I'd like to meet him...

They aren't Abercrombie yet, when you ask the preson wearing Harley what it is they still know that it has someting to do with motorcycles. Unlike the once sporting goods dealer's brand name plastered across the breasts and buttocks of our nation's youths and wish they were youths.

Sounds like Stamford, CT.

1) The dealers should be ashamed.

2) HD should put some teeth in their dealer contract.

What an embarrasment.

I have a bit of a personal interest in this one because of the riding club in the area of this dealer. Take a look at the names in our Guggenheim Riding Club and you'll see what I mean. It's one thing to have some local squid dissing Buells to his pals. Quite another to have Laurence Fishburne relaring the shit he heard from the dealer about how Buells suck.

I'm with you Bubba....it angers and dissappoints me.

Grump:

A couple of them are "right at ease"....a couple "are not".

Classic moment was when I introduced my youngest to David Crosby...about an hour later.

B: "Who's the big Walrus looking dude?"
D: "That's David Crosby"
B: "Who?"
D" "David Crosby....as in Crosby, Stills and Nash"
B: "Who"...never heard of 'em"
D: "Duh...WOODSTOCK?"
B: "what ?"

The start of my feeling old.

Then ante was upped moments later when another pal who I thought was just some writer poet trust fund baby dude (Watch for the name Holubeck in HD shirts and remind me to tell you the story) that I'd met through motopals, Bryce stabs me in the ribs says "Dad...that's the dude from Comedy Central".

D: "What?"

Court, That's what I went through at the old Dick Farmer HD. I was in there picking up some parts and this kid was picking up his new X1. My daughter was outside the front window waiting. I walk back outside and the following ensued.

Her: Dad, do you know who that is?
Me: The kid?
Her: YEA, That's Justin!
Me: Justin who?
Her: JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE!!!!
Me: Who?
Her: From N'Sync!
Me: In Sync?
Her: Nevermind!
Me: Fine by me.

Interesting, someone from somewhere must have gotten to our friends in STRATFORD. The XB12 auction has been stopped. I was just trying to figure out how to get it shipped down here.

as far as the dealer getting another line of bikes because buells don't sell.

Gentlemen, the add has stopped because all 7 they had for sale are sold. I bought the 6th one, a red xb12s still in the crate. They are required to prep it before it can be released. That's why the add said it has 10 miles on them. $650 to get it to Fort Worth. I have a copy of the Certificate of Origin they faxed to my bank, the VIN is different from the one advertise on ebay. BTW they have 9 xb9, not sure what model, they will be selling next. The salesman name is Frank, his number is 203-380-2600. Tell him I sent you. Oh, does anyone know if they are using synthetic oil when they ship the bikes from the factory?

BTW, how much do yall think I can get for my X1? It has 6000 miles and I just put a set of Dunlop 208 ZR on it, as of to date, they have 0 miles on them. Please take a look at my profile for all mods. Thanks, any input would be appreciated.

Cowtown, I think that any major problems are likely to show themselves within the 2 year standard warranty period, and it's only as good as the dealer doing the service. Paying money for an extended warranty is just throwing money away IMO.
