I wanted to know should a new tire balance be done with the drive sprocket and damper/cush drives on the wheel?

I ask because the shop said they never balance a rear wheel/tire with those parts together.

I thought the whole rear drive assembly should be balanced together as they do go together on the bike.

Well, I figure you will be riding on the wheel/tire with the parts on it, I think it would only be common sense to balance it with them on there.

We balance the tire wheel assembly only.

The chain goes on the bike as well. No need to balance anything that isn't bolted directly to the wheel.

What she ^ said.

Also - Cush drive? You are talking something other than a Buell, correct?

NO Buell chain conversion that I've ever seen - whether Factory or Aftermarket uses a cush drive... but still - there's no need to have the sprocket/cush drive in place but BE CAREFUL if the rubber biscuits are loose - you'll have to keep track of them - they tend to get lost along the way.

Totally different than a ricochet bisquit.

Yes, I was referring to my other bike which is a '96 CBR1000F. I had the Cycle Gear sale Pirelli Diablo’s mounted the wheels about 2 weeks ago. 2 days later at the same dealership I won the grand prize at their open house to show their new Victory line.

It was a free set of Dunlap tires of my choice mounted on my bike. I still had the wheels off the Honda, so I dropped them off yesterday after work to install the Dunlap’s.

I'm just going to keep the Pirelli's to use on the Firebolt at a later date.

This was the same dealership that told me after they put the first set of tires on "They never balance the sprocket assembly with the wheel".

I just requested that they balance it together this time. I guess I won't know if they really did it though. I'm picking them up today after work.
