http://www.sportrider.com/features/146_0406_zx10_dyno/

take sometime to look at waht kawi is doing. They have been doing their home work and taking more than a few design cues from east troy in my opinion. lowered the engine and moved it center, narrowed the fram and wheelbase.
and the power curve is very impressive for a 4 cyl. bike. the torque curve is very smooth.

lots of reading on the zx 10 check it all out. I for one am very impressed...

Kinda makes the fischer "superbike" look not so super....check out the all black color.

gxsrs and cbr's and yamaha's are gonna be killed I belive. this sounds like a great street bike.

it sounds like the closest a 4cyl will ever come to handling like a twin

I've been praising the Z1000 since its launch. That is one great and very very fast sit-up and beg motorcycle.

The ZX10 gets its new found geometry from its race bike cousin, not East Troy.

I gotta go with the new R1 and CBR1000RR. I hate the big arse pipes hanging off the side of the Kawi. I like the big Kawi's front disks though. Too cool.

I agree, those style mufflers(like the Kaw) are nothing but goofy looking. But since it spits out 161.8 hp. i guess i don't notice it quite as badly.Man,what a great time to be a motorcycle nut.

Although I have only seen the new Honda and Kawi at the IMS show ans have ridden a GSXR 1000 and a brand new DUCATI 999S.If I had choose I would have to say the 999 was the most fun to ride.I guess the Ducati has a personality kinda like a BUELL has one.

What's really cool is that this bike is physically smaller than the 636, and may even be close to its wet weight of 418 lbs. And check out the smooth hp and torque curves on Sportrider.

I sat on the Kaw 10, R1, and CBR at the IMS show. Thought the Honda LOOKED better quality, but the Kaw just plain fit my 6ft,34" inseam, 200lb ass better. Felt like I could stay on it longer than 30 min. BUT... fear not, I'm a V-Twin whore, and MORE than satisfied with my X1, and more and more and more in love with my XB9R.

It is impressive, though a bit anemic down low compared to the GSXR1000. Kawi obviously chose to tune the engine for maximum top end. On the track, the GSXR will be tuned likewise. They'll simply adjust the cam timing a bit and they'll be right there with the Kawi. On the street, I'd rather have the big Gix or the CBR1000RR whose dyno plot was dead on top of the GSXR's.

Not me. On the street, I'd rather have my Buell.(That's why I bought one) You can have both of them.

Rocket what I was talking about was the fact that for years every other manufacturer had bassically not been doing anything about getting the weight down low and in the middle. Now they all seem to be doing it finally.

and yes I understand it comes from the racing side of life. so one could beg the question....what took their arses so long to get there.

and yes my only prob with the kawi is the pipe I wish it was up under the seat also. but you can't have everything.

and also for the street I would rather have the kawi not the gxr for the simple fact that my right hand is not a smooth mechanism whatso ever so the kawi might be a hair more forgiving of my dumb butt than the gsxr.....I have no assumptions that I am that good of a rider.

Plus everyone I know over the age of 30 with a gsxr, when pushed to tell the truth.....are kinda scared of their machine because it is so damn strong

should titled this thread more like " Fischer, now this is a superbike"

o comon, the exhaust aint that big of a deal, being buell people and all you know any one of us that owned that bike would switch that badboy out for a fancy slip-on in short order, i bet they already make an under the seat kit for that exhaust!

Crusty,
A'men to that! thumbsup I was of course meaning in a world of only IL4 liter-bike repliracers. Scary huh?

Tripp,
While smaller would in this case be better, the pipe would still be sticking out, flapping in the breeze. The new R1 and CBR1000RR are much better. Japan finally broke down and followed Ducati's lead wrt exhaust/muffler placement. It's about time.

Anybody seen this? Its one of the earlist 04' 1000cc shoot-outs from a well respected German magazine. Even though its German the results are still interesting, and looks well done.
