Does anyone know an automotive cross reference to the dina oil filter (the longer one) that fits the tube framed Buells? I am looking at a puralator PL20195 but they don't want to sell it to me because it is not listed for the bike.

Hi Alsza.. sorry I dint see you had specified that it's an S3.

So the S3's use the same filter as an Evo Sportster so here is the cross reference chart for evo Sportster

That might help the Oz-man.

Napa 1515..same as Motorcraft FL-1A. It's all I ever use on my X1 since break in. Gives you an extra 1/2 quart capacity.

American Sport Bike sells these. They're kinda pricey, but you'll never have to buy another oil filter. And they're dead sexy.

PN# 6090 fits Tubers

PN# 9034 fits XB's and Blasts

the manufacturer recommends solvent, kerosene, aerosol carburetor cleaner or any other degreasing agent. I use diesel and it seems to work well. That round flush-mounted insert in the bottom picture is a magnet. You'd be amazed at how much stuff gets stopped in this filter instead of continuing to circulate through the engine.

Ourdee - another good reason for me to keep changing mine every 2000. This way I'll start saving money sooner ; )

If you change oil at 2000 mi. intervals on any gasoline engine you will be saving money. Our personal opinions.
