No not a good week. Ever see The Right Stuff? Where Scot Glenn (sorry if spelled wrong) gets that thing stuck in his hand? I thought that was movie B.S. but it is part of a Nerve Conduction Test.Four times in each leg & six times in the small of my back. It's not as bad as the movie makes it look but it does give you an idea of what an ice pick & cattle prod combined would feel like. It wasn't that bad but I could have done without it.Anyway tomorrow...oops..today I'm going to love that RIDE. It could be worse...I could be snowed in like many of the rest of you.

I had a similar test done on my right arm after I was pulled into a set of nip rollers about 13 years ago. I told the wife it was like medieval torture with electricity thrown in.

Nerve Conduction Test
Prodded in the shoulders, pick ups in the fingers.
Yes, right and left.
3 and a half hours in the MRI for my right arm.
Next week MRI for the left.
Guess I joined in the pitty party after all.
Really didn't think anyone would know what I was talking about.
it was like medieval torture with electricity thrown in
So true. The doc kept saying, before the shock "Sorry about this"...

Somebody named Tommy Hunter might be in the above picture but isn't a picture OF Tommy Hunter. That, friends, is a picture of the great Buck Owens. Unfortunately, Buck Owens is better known to most of us for his 17 year role as co-host of Hee Haw than for his country music.

Buck Owens had 15 consecutive #1 records between 1963 and 1967, and a total of 20 #1 records between 1963 and 1972; 20 other singles made the top 10. The band was named the Buckaroos by onetime bass player Merle Haggard. Buck and his lead man Don Rich were sensational guitarists and listening to them play their twin Fender Telecasters was a treat. On a sad note, Don Rich was killed in a motorcycle accident in July, 1974.

Interestingly, Buck has never been a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Buck Owens and the Buckaroos, yep, that's it. Now that was REAL country music!

You get that great sound today in some of Alan Jackson's tunes.

Dwight Yokum is a big Buck Owens fan.

Hee Haw was one of the worst shows ever.

Dyna, don't even say one more word about getting body parts caught in a nip point. I have a reminder to look at every day. My middle finger on my right hand is the same length as my index finger.

The last nerve conductance test was the day after they rebuilt my right leg after a car accident. When the femur was put back together the doc managed to pinch a nerve. They just weren't sure if the pinch was in the hip socket or at the break so they wanted to pin it down. Needless to say I skipped the follow-up test 3 months later. I know I still have nerve damage in my leg but screw it I will live with it.

Spooky, yep nip rollers suck. Had a set in laminator that glue would build up on. We would open them up & clean the glue off while the line ran. They opened up maybe 3/4" max. Anyways due to a hole in a rag & my finger finding that hole, my right arm was pulled in up to elbow. Didnt rip anything off, but I was stuck in the machine for about 15 minutes while maintenance pulled off the bearing support & was able to lift the nip roller up. Ended up with a crush injury to my arm & they had to open it up..resulting in an 8" scar. Stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks with my muscle exposed while the swelling went down. Then they had to do a skin graft which stayed on for a year before they finally removed it & pulled everything back together.

Sucked overall, ended up with a 35% disability in my right hand strength & I get reminded of it every day. No grip strength at all. Can hardly open a 2 ltr bottle of soda at times.

Avoid nips at all costs, you will never win.

Ouch!15 min. is a long time. That would be an ordeal. Sucks indeed.
Mine was maybe 10 sec. I got T-boned by a Buick while riding my KZ650. Pushed my left knee almost to the frame through the tank at impact. Then it got worse. Now days I always have to use my right foot at stops.
Fate can be unkind but you just have to face your problems and get going again. Sounds like all of us have.

Need to see movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou"
Baby Face Nelson being chased by the cops, spots the herd of cows and says "If there's one thing I hate more than cops, it's cows"

My favorite Fortune cookie Fortune "Passionate new romance appears in your life when you least expect it" I carry it with me everywhere just in case I get the chance to use it!
