Court, make me feel better...

"Since October, the percentage who see Obama as a "strong and decisive leader" has jumped 12 percentage points, and his image as an effective manager has gone up 11 points."

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2009-04-23 -obama-poll_N.htm

I have no way and no real reason to not believe the numbers, but I feel like we are more divided as a country than I can remember in recent history.

Then again, I'm not all that old, so what the hell do I know.

Take the time to read the article and check out the all the graphs on the left-hand side. Some interesting stuff...

I would say that much of the results are based upon two factors: the time horizon of the poll and the fact that we haven't gotten the bill for the spending programs yet.

The righ direction/wrong direction poll is also trending positively, but Obama hasn't broken 50% yet at 42% right direction/57% wrong direction.

I believe it will become more and more difficult to coral the conservative democrats for the next two election cycles.

Just because a poll is put up to try and sway even more public opinion his way doesn't mean that in the end this guy will be more than a one term president, hopefully not even one term, but even though Clinton was impeached it takes both houses to remove, but we can always hope. There will be a romance period with this administration, many left wing, socialists, Keith Olbermann types have been salivating for "their" kind of president, and while he can do a lot of damage in four years, hopefully in 2010 the house and some of the senate will go back to the GOP, and then in 2012 he will be just like Carter, one and done. So then we can start to undo all the damage that was done, I am hopeful the country can hold out that long, if we are not handed to the UN by this guy as a vassal state by then, we shall see, so don't fret too much, it didn't take a day to put him in, it will take more than a day to move him out.

I say take a deep breath and back slowly away from the media. You have just as much reason to not believe the numbers as you have reason to believe them. Think about the 'color' and 'tone' the mainstream media gave the Tea Party participants.

Here is proof that the mainstream media is protecting Obama. Janeane Garofalo rails racist sputum for over five minutes on MSNBC's Countdown and no one calls her on it. This kind of vile "news/opinion" is attempting to sway public opinion. David Duke would be proud of GE/NBC/MSNBC.

I hope the public starts to reawaken to the danger falling over our Republic.

That interview is complete GARBAGE. In her comments, she has epitomized everything she's critisizing.

Not to mention crap like this was all well and good when Bush was in the office.

Janeane Garafalo is an embarrassment to Democrats. She is our combination of Rush and Joe the Plumber all rolled into one horrifying caricature of a politically active "D-list" star.

Why is she even allowed to be sort-of famous anyway?

BLECH!

I just got back from Ireland and they freaking love him over there. They nearly swoon at his name. His books are on sale everywhere. I just don't get it. It must be the cult of personality more than substance. Either that or the Europeans resent our power and dominance and see him as weak and conciliatory.
I remember the Carter days when I was embarrassed to be an American. That's where I see us going.

"The world has changed."

I doubt it. The pendulum is just swinging left. Eventually it will pause at the farthest part of its swing and it will start back to the right.

If you like it swinging left, then enjoy it while it lasts. If you don't, be patient, it will start moving back your way eventually.

Ok, so I dont like his liberal brand of politics so I am a racist ?
I didnt like Bush's version of the bailouts either, what did that make me then?

Its called fiscal responsibility, if you want to put a face on it, Try Washington, Lincoln, Jackson, Grant, Franklin, because you will be seeing less of them in your paychecks from now on.

Actually, my pay went up about $33 per month since he took office. I would talk to whoever does your payroll.

Don't fret, you'll be paying that back with plenty of interest soon enough.

You don't need more than a 99 cent calculator to figure out that doubling the national debt and cutting taxes don't go together well.

Just like the "stimulus checks" of the Bush ear, that will not last and the recoup, plus the servicing on the debt to add that scant amount to your pocket, compounded interest on the bond sold to China, or Saudi Arabia or Russia or Germany or any other country looking to buy some debt at a return, so he can pay for his bailout package, plus all the new "social" programs on top of taking over company's will end up costing you WAY more than the $33 you see this month. Enjoy that dinner and a movie by yourself because it wouldn't cover two people and brace yourself for the real deal when the bill comes do.

"I have no way and no real reason to not believe the numbers, but I feel like we are more divided as a country than I can remember in recent history."

That has got to be one of the funnest sentences ever here on the Badweb. I'm not bagging on you. I believe you may be correct. I believe so many people hated the Bush administration, that the Country seemed more united then.Because lots of people knew Bush was a knob. You would never have known that from this site though.

OKAY. Back outside. No more political thread for me!!
