Welcome to the club Mike! www.1130cc.com is a great source for VR info. Its sorta stuffy, but the info is amazing. Let the mods begin! There's a bunch!

This is what I find funny. The boobs on 1130CC think this bike is a waste of time. Useless, ugly and the biggest mistake HD has made. Thing is, its probably the best bike they've made. |

I damn near bought one from a local dealer in Illinois but he wouldn't give me anything for my M2 Cyclone so I passed. The motor was so smooth and powerful, but quiet! I had trouble hearing the motor to shift. I think it needed some pipes! |

I have always liked those, especially the original anodized version. Since I have never ridden one, just exactly how powerful are they? What would you compare it to? |

The Street Rod was hands down the best performer of the VRSC family. Short rake, high seat, inverted front end, bigger tank, awesome handling and gobs of power. I think the same people handled its marketing that took care of the XB12STT....such a shame. Awesome bike, ride it hard. Also check out V-mod.com. They've got a ton of good stuff out there for 'em. If you like to hear yourself, go for the CFR pipe. It shakes the ground when you start the bike. |

S1 Mike, What kind of mileage do you get. My next bike will probably be one of these? dad4 (Message edited by dad4 on April 25, 2009) |

I get about 35-36. I run topless, K&N, de-baffled exhaust and a custom Screamin Eagle map. |

They didn't sell well at all. Harley only built them for (I think)'05, '06 & '07. The last one my dealer had was an '06 & sold Jan of '08 for the price of a 1200 Sportster. |

I sold mine to get my Firebolt. I liked the VRSCR and still do, but the XB12R takes the corners better. One ride on a 12R and I was hooked. I think the reason it didn't sell very well is because very few Harley riders want an aggressive curve handling bike. Most are happy with cruisers like Road Kings and Softails. With its weight, wheelbase, price, and because it's made by Harley, it didn't have a good chance of getting the attention of sportbike riders. HOWEVER, the same thing happened with the XLCR made in 1977 and 1978. Now it's a collectors bike.
I bet the same will be so with the Street Rod. The VRSCR was the best out of all the VRSC models IMO |

Not a CR , this one is a DX . I bought this one about a year ago. I couldn't resist , the all black theme , the improvements and refinments done for the 2008 model year and it was just time for a new bike. |

Made the final deal today. I will be trading in my 05 Road Glide for the 06 new old stock Street Rod. Now I just have to find the time to ride out to western Pa. to swap the bikes. I was out that way last weekend on a Buell run with my 06 Ulysses and traded it in on a new 09 Ulysses from the same dealer. In 3 hours I was in and out with all my bags and GPS switched over to the new bike and was on my way. If you get a chance to stop in to Highland HD in Somerset Pa. you won't be disappointed. Wish I lived closer to them but the ride out can be fun. This will be my third bike from them, but it will not be my last. The dealers on Long Island should take some lessons from them in customer service. Thanks John for the deal. Mike Long Island, NY 09 XB12X Red/Black |
