I have been buying my tires as of late at Cycle Gear and on the last set took them up on the road hazard coverage for $19.99/tire. Last week I went out to the garage after not riding my bike for two days and found the rear tire flat. Upon removal of the wheel I found a nail that was four inches long. I removed the wheel and took it to Cycle Gear with my receipt (you must keep the receipt). Upon measuring the tread depth I was found to have used less than 25% of the usable tread and the tire was replaced free of charge (I did have to pay mounting and balancing and I again paid the $19.99 for road hazard coverage). I just looked at my receipt for the tire that was replaced and I had written the mileage on it when I put the tire on. I actually got ~4200 miles out of that rear tire and had it replaced essentially for free. It's a Pirelli Strada in case you were wondering. I would highly recommend Cycle Gear for this added value and their tire prices are competitive with anything you can get on-line unless you score free shipping. |

SWEET! Good to know. I just put a strada rear on my X1 and was wondering how much mileage I can expect. I got close to 10k out of the Scorpion Sync that the Strada replaced, so probably 12k+ on the Strada?! Next time I'll be going back to a 180 instead of the SM recommended 170. The 170 is very flickable but for my style of riding I like the more stable feeling of the 180. |

I've got the Strada's. Rear last 10k, but I'm fat and I'm pretty mean with the throttle. Front has almost 12k on it |

Or you could of gotten your Strada's lined with Rhinotire. Costs a bit more than the hazard protection, but 0 down time for a nail. I got Rhinoed Stradas on my bike now, when they are due for replacement I will be putting a few nails a knife into it just to see if they work as advertised. |
