I think we have already. I believe the "Danny didn't get the memo" poster is their work and is running as a full-page ad on the back of the current issue of Road Racing World. Looks like the Buell division of HOG(NYSE) ain't learned a thing- most motorcyclists don't even read 'Roadracing World" et al. And ads in said racing oriented press totally miss emerging markets. One gets the feeling that HOG and Buell management have the blinders on and will be happy as pigs in the mud to sell 10k bikes year to roadracer wannabes in a global motorcycle market that numbers in the millions. | ||

Hmmmmm....how many racers read RRW? Now, how many of those racers would never have before considered racing or buying a Buell? To these guys racing means credibility. And that equals sales. Oh, and it does not hurt to rub the anti-Buell gangs nose in it! | ||

Sound familiar? How many folks were racing Buells at Daytona . . . . Fontana . . . Atlanta. Graph the numbers. Slope "+" or "-". Guess what . . . a reasonably good PRIVATEER, with no access the high end factory goodies, can get on a Buell, toss a couple grand at it and have a fairly good chance of walking about with several grand at the end of the weekend. Watch for more folks switching to Buells . . . . nearly 100% of them will be regular readers of Roadracing World. Then . . . . and only then . . . . would I extend my advertising bubble. Three wins in Popular Science means nothing to the casual reader who may thing Buell wins all the time. It means tons to racers . . . you know . . the ones's that read . . . say it with me now . . ROADRACING WORLD.

Now replace "HOG and Buell" with "YamaKawiHondaZuki", "10k" with "100k+", and you would probably have as close to a true statement as you ever have on this forum. With everything going on in this world, do you have to sling such negativity? Is it your lot in life? Are you just that miserable that you have to piss on our racing success, AND put down a publication that I (and presumably others on this board) enjoy & respect at the same time? If you're anything, you're at least efficient. | ||
