I am not planning on purchasing the BRAG package unless there is something really sweet in the deal. I have to work that Saturday so I would have to miss the races anyway. I am open to anything that is happening Wednesday thru Friday though.

You don't know what has been talked about between spidey and I

You sure about that?

And dont compare the 2 towns? I said they both suck, except racine has more ghettos, more crime, more gangs & those are facts which can be backed up with police stats.

Yup...Same as last year. Hopefully My plugs won't foul out again. Last year for some reason when I dove into a few turns my bike seemed to miss. Not a great feeling with the bike leaned over. I thought it might even be the kickstand switch. That will be gone by next summer though. I also had some problems during the 100th that I tracked down to being bad gas from a certain local station. Anyway, I should be better prepared this year.

Pretty sure we've talked several times on the phone, nothing set in stone but I know where he sits on the homecoming thing.Dyna I was just being hospitable and opening my home to some friends that have been made through the 20th and here on the BadWeb.But I guess you don't see that.Hope you'll change your mind and show for the festivities, kinda sounds like others are starting to show interest.

Nope, no interest at all in any activities.

Interest in meeting some of the guys, sure. But any of the Buell activities hold absolutley no allure at all.

And Dana I understand the hospitable deal, but I also know that when I go on vacation & attend various functions I prefer to be closer to the action. Seemed like a number of folks during the 20th felt the same way. It was a hell of cruise to go anywhere from that location. Bill spent a lot of time planning rides & routes, making maps, etc & not a single one of them was used. Everyone was too damn tired from the long trip just to get here & didnt feel like going on a ride thru the Kettle or anywhere else for that matter. I felt kinda sorry about that deal.

At the Brag event for Deals gap we had 2 camps, Fontana & The deals gap motorcycle resort..although calling that place a resort is really stretching the truth a lot: D. They are 9 miles apart & the roads between the 2 are awesome.

I would think anyone coming from out of town for such a function would want to be near where the other travelers are??

The tour of the factory last year (20th anniversary) was great. The Battletrax and other gatherings where also excelent. I would be surprised to see as many people as we had last year (about 80 bikes) but I am sure it will still be a good time.

Dyna I have to agree on last years "host" motel.
I spent the first nite behind Hal's in the rv and as long as I know where everyone is I'll park there. Not trying to avoid motel charge but its my towing rig for the trailer and its the garage at nite. So I would like to see somewhere around East Troy or closer to RA.

Have to agree that the 20th was really great and I am confident that BRAG will put on a Grand event this year as well. Just remember that the 20th was organized by the folks on this board and not by a corporation. As such, the board communicated very well and it was an enthusiastic democratic process that made it happen. The inverse is, we are just going to have to wait for BRAG to make their announcements.

Yeah, I spent a few weekends putting together a route through the North and South Kettle that linked Uke's and Hal's and CJ made 25 or 50 sets of the route sheets. It is no big deal that the ride didn't materialize. However, they did take all the route sheets and maps. Souvenirs???

The point is they all had fun bench racing, telling tall tales and doing a lot of local rides. As mentioned, they were pretty tired from the ride to Wisconsin and some were doing maintenance chores on their bikes. Electing not to do the run just might have been the smartest thing from a safety perspective.

The way I see it, BRAG is doing their best to put together a great event here in Wisconsin and I would strongly recommend that all Bueller's try to make it. Once the complete agenda is posted I am confident that you will all agree.

Concerning the locals that can only make a part of the event due to work or other conflicts, try your best to show for whatever functions you can fit in. Perhaps, BRAG may be able to accommodate you with a "per event" fee or something like that. You don't know if you don't ask!

Lastly, for those coming from other States, please ignore some of us Cheeseheads. In as much as you don't see anyone else in the country complaining about the events Buell is putting on there, it is our heritage to have some Whine with our Cheese. Don't be discouraged by some local bickering. We all smile and are a lot of fun to be around in real life. We just aren't accomplished with this Internet thing quite yet.

See ya at the HomeComing!!!

No worries Nev, I know enough friends up in Madison to know about that Whine with Cheese deal : D Just wish I knew more about what my schedule of life will be around that time to make plans to be there.

Some people didn't go for a ride because they were getting blue (or black) ink injected into their skin
I stayed with friends up in Brown Deer, and wished I'd been a bit closer.
I was at Homecoming '99 and I was at the 20th; they were both incredible, but in completely different ways. If I can figure a way, I'll be there, but to be honest the chances are really slim.

Same here Crusty,

I figure that in August I will be tied up with whoever wants to come up for the Newfie Adventure. If I can make the Homecoming I will fly in somewhere and possibly either take up Dennis or Dan's offer to use one of their extra scoots. Flying up is only one day as compared to almost 3-4 to ride across Canada and part of the USA.

As for the events I am sure Brag will put off a good show but remember people its the friends and adventure you experience. Don't get me wrong I thought the 20th was a remarkable experience I will never forget but the events leading up to the 20th on my ride across Canada, the Hooters Experience with the group from Michigan, the baseball game after Ukes Battletrax that Charlotte, CJ, Bear, Jerry and a few others took me to (was the first Major League game I ever attended), the isolator blowout going through Michigan and tearing down the bike in Buffalo, NY with the help of Oz666, then the best was getting pulled over by a cop in Quebec for attempting to run from him (I swear I did not know the unmarked car was a cop) at 150kph or there about and getting away with any violations.

Its not the destination but the Journey - make it safe and enjoyable so you can attend another.

This year if I could ride to the Homecoming I think I would hit the North Eastern States and ride on the southern side of Lake Ontario through Up-State New York.

Right now I have a couple things going on here that will take up a lot of capital till the end of the year so I have to plan my trips wisely.

In my opinion the fee for joining BRAG and the fee to attend is a very, very, small price to pay for the experience!!!

Those complaining can piss off and not go - please don't rain on our parade!!!!

Just my humble opinions!!!!!

Dyna,
There is one thing that you have to remember...when Dennis and I were looking for a host hotel/banquet hall we had to take in consideration price because of the dinner being so expensive at some places. And also availability of spaces due to the 100th the following week.
So we did what we could to find something that was remotely in the area.

All

got room for 4 or 5 multi-person tents on the grounds of Festung Rosberg . . . we're about 1.5 fairly entertaining hours south of East Troy, across the apparent international border between Wisconsin and Illinois . . . .

anyone needing a cheap place to stay (don't get any cheaper than free!) is welcome . . .

(and flatlanders don't serve Whine with Cheese)

Just wanted to put something in here, if there is something we can do for homecoming, I would be more than happy.

Our shop is 15 min. from Elkhart Lake, I know a number of camp sites in area, I live 5 min from track.

I would like to say I know a couple of good places to eat and I would be willing to put on a brat fry for all the buellers, I have connections at Johnsonville brats.

Before I make too many more commitments, we are trying to put together a dirt track race at Plymouth, Formula USA kind of pulled out, so it is back to Friday night dirt track , AMA Pro-AM at this point. I have full commitment to that one, so what ever works around that, I am open.

I think if you guys organized I could secure a block of campground sites at the Sheboygan Marsh campgrounds so you all could kind of stay together?? The manager there is a good customer..

I am very busy getting race bikes together right now, if any one has ideas that they would like me to champion, please let me know AFTER Daytona as right now they would get left behind....

I am here for you guys!

"if there is something we can do for homecoming, I would be more than happy"

I'll just suggest this: how about a tour/open house? Always nice to see what goes on at various speed shops. The past tours of the S&S facility were always great. Past BRAG tours of Hal's speed shop are always interesting. The nuts and bolts of performance applied always makes for a good visit.

Open the doors, give us a map or directions and requested hours and you'll probably have a housefull. Door prizes optional. ; )

Just as long as it doesn't interfere with going to Schwartz's.
A big BRAT cookout would be good too. Especially now that I know the official Wisconsin way to eat them.

Official Wisconsin way? Ok, who's been hazing the new guy? Unless they told you non-stop, with a little beer to help wash them down, they were lying. Sauerkraut is almost optional.

Wyked...You have friends in Madison? Man, that doesn't say much for you. LOL

Reflecting back to my college years, that means..."You have HIGH friends, in LOW places."

Oh man, I miss those days! However, according to Koz and a few others around here, I am still a loadie. Only Geritol is my drug of choice these days.

Daves...Dullorb is correct. However, the sauerkraut is mandatory for those on a diet. You know, kinda like the "Binge-Purge" concept with a little extra humor tossed in (read: Pull my Finger).

To what I understand Peggy is working o food at the factory, food for the first night at Lake lawn with a riders meeting of sort's that night. And another dinner at lake lawn.So will the dealers have food I know Ukes will.I always bring the Kringle so there will be things in the morning and most likely lunch there as well.I haven't spoke to the Brew city crew yet so I don't know what Hal's is doing yet but they will most likely. So food the way I understand is covered unless someone is doing a extra, that means you can count me in.
