While replacing my Cranshaft seal yesterday I somwhow damaged the bearing cage that sits at the base of my Crankshaft! At the top aprox 1 0'clock I took a small gouge out of it and around 8 o'clock I managed to bend it so it is not completely round! the bearings seem to roll free but I'm thinking major issue!! Anyone else manage to do this???

Yeah, just because the bearing moves I wouldn't use it with that damage. Old saying goes, better safe than sorry.

Never did that myself

That's a tough call. Replacing it is major work...I think you've got to split the cases. If it is just the outer shell, not the actual surface that contacts the ball bearings in their travel, maybe it'll be OK? Hard to say without seeing it.
