My wife would like to move up from her Blast to a S3T, but there is a problem - seat height. Any one know of a way (and where I could locate parts) to lower a Thunderbolt? I would need it to be a max seat height of 29" I am not to concerned on her extreme cornering clearance, she's not a very fast rider. Also, besides the bike site on the Harley web page, is there a way I could find dealers that may have S3T's either left over new or used?
Thanks for any help,

Gomo . . . . .the M2 Low shock setup will likely get you some of what you want (not sure what the seat height is on the S3, and, therefore, don't know how much you'd have to drop to get to 29 inches), and, if memory serves, the fork legs on the S3 are a constant diameter, making it possible to slide them up in the triple trees . . ..

have you considered an M2 Low as an alternative?

Gomo,

The stock seat height of the S3T is 29.5". I'd try getting an M2L shock. This should get you about an inch lower. Bomber is correct about the constant diameter of the front forks.

If you're looking for a left over new S3T, try contacting Dave in Waterloo or Brian at Tilley's. They're both great at finding what you need.

Good luck!

Gomo,
Just a thought, but have her sit on an "older" S3 or S2 or S1. The narrower profile of the seat makes the bike seem lower than it really is. Just a thought, and only she will be able to say if she can then live with that seat.

there was a fella on the board who was looking to swap his M2 Low shock for a normal one, I believe . . . . . cost effective, certainly, and may get you to where you need to be!
