Boy, when did BadWeb become such a political forum? I come here looking for discussion on important issues like riding my motorcycles and OKRA!!

It's Lent, so like all good (cough, cough) Catholics I'm not eating meat on Fridays. I've been frequenting a WONDERFUL Indian Restaurant that opened in Deer Park (NY) several months ago.

Today I tried their "Vegetable Thali," which is like an Indian version of a Japanese Bento Box. Lots of small portions of different dishes served on a special tray with individual compartments for each dish.

One of the dishes was CURRIED OKRA!! Well of course... okra originated in India, so I should've KNOWN it would be used in Indian food. Not bad, and Cyrus (the proprietor) knew to "kick up" the heat for me as well.

So now I have a different way of eating okra besides in gumbo, fried, or pickled!

You're right... my mistake... West Africa. But it seems to be a universal vegetable these days. The local Indian supermarket had plenty of fresh okra last time I was in there.

I must say guys, from reading this forum for a while I just had to try OKRA. Growing up in the East and living in Colorado for the past 30 years I never had the opportunity or knowledge of OKRA.

My sweet hubby, however, is from the midwest and has eaten OKRA. So, I ventured out and tried it and actually like it.

Thank you guys for OKRA. Oh, and it goes well with sweet tea.

It's definitely one of the best fried or pickled fruits going.

I was thinkin about growing Okra in my garden this year but I didn;t want to waste the area on something no one eats ; )

I had gumbo yesterday! It was AWESOME. Nice kickin hot sausage and lots of okra.

God does not approve of OKRA eating !

Proof:

In the last 100 years, over 90% of the okra-eaters have DIED!!! I have the statistics to prove it too!

I use it on my polished billet air intake bell.

I wonder if it would work on my unequal length headers?

I like fried okra when I eat barbecue. Hence my need to participate in the "Let's get it on" thread. BTW, shouldn't it be the let's get it off thread? I'm guessing, knowing this board, that has come up already, but I am not reading 50 pages of posts to see.

Dave,

I've heard that if you use Teflon tape, you can get an XB9 up to 200mph without any further modifications. Just the ticket for getting to the next okra stand before your buddies!
