There are so many negative dealership posts, I'd thought I'd share with you guys that I stopped at a dealership today that had the nicest Buell set up I have seen at a dealership.

They had most of their Buells in their own room with a couple of racks of shirts, helmets, and other gear, including one of those very nice Buell track bags. They also had a CR own a big stand displayed prominently in the main showroom. They had a few Buells outside, and a couple of used Buells mixed in with the used Harleys.

I spoke with a salesman and he told me the Buell demo truck is coming next month. The dealership is a couple of hours from my house, but I think I will ride up that Saturday if there is any way I can get away.

They also had some new TTs on the floor that were marked way down. Aren't the new SSs basically mechanically the same as the previous TTs? If anyone was interested, it could be a way to save a chunk of change. Change out some plastic and maybe the seat if you wanted and you would still have a great deal.

BTW, I thought the dealership was a sponsor here, but I looked at the sponsor page and didn't see them, so I don't want to violate any rules by posting anything more specific. Would it be a violation to mention their name or the prices they had on the TTs?

Let me close by saying that I think that if all HD dealers treated Buell this way, Buell would sell alot more bikes.

I think you can post your experiences here

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/3608.html?1237931603

even if they are not a sponsor.

I have been to quite a few great Buell dealers myself. I have been fortunate to not been to a bad one yet.

I don't think anyone would have a problem with posting the name of a good Buell dealer here. The only problem would be if they started to try to sell things without sponsoring the board.

Bear in mind that I am not a moderator and do not speak for Blake. He has the last word of course.

Inquiring minds want to know...I need some more Buell shirts...this sounds like my local dealer except the last time I was there....they had absolutely no Buell gear for sale....but they did have a CR on prominent display on a table setup very nicely done up as window dressing.

I know Liberty, from when I was there last Saturday, has hundreds of Buell shirts, jackets, and shelves of every goodie you can imagine.

I was at Ocala HD. They seemed like a very Buell friendly dealer. I will definitely visit them before I buy a bike.

No parade to rain on. I am only saying that Ocala HD has a very nice Buell set up. Numerous bikes. Nicely displayed. A decent amount of shirts and bags and such. Some very good prices on new/previous model TTs. Whether Gainesville HD is better or worse is no skin off my nose. When I am finally able to pull the trigger on one I will be happy to check with both dealerships. I will probably also check with Lakeland HD as well. I know some of the folks there are Buell fans. I was a bit frustrated at Lakeland the other day though. I stopped in to buy a part and couldn't get anyone to wait on me at the parts desk. There was an employee just feet away looking at parts on the wall. It looked like maybe he was taking inventory. I patiently waited for 5-10 minutes for him to get to a stopping point so I could BUY something. Finally I just left. See, now I am turning my positive dealership post into a complaint post. Didn't mean to do that. I just want to give positive remarks when I can. The negative stuff is already out there.

You have been here 2 years and still haven't bought a Uly? When you finally do buy one, you will say "Wow, I wasted 2 years of my life on a geezer mobile" : )

Well i hate dealer's but i must say the dealer here in UTAH south valley harley was awesome today, I had a problem that ended me up at this particular dealer and i was amazed how well they treated me and the price they charged me was $199 for 5 hours work. I couldn't be happier, I am going to go and buy the service guys lunch tomorrow. I was expecting $350+ in repair bill's

I am really negative towards dealers but these guy are worth the mention!!

Froggy, I hope you are right. This all started a couple of years ago when I was up in NC riding the Blue Ridge, the Dragon, and other various roads with some buddies. I got tired of getting passed by guys on BMWs and started looking for alternatives to my Dyna.

The thing is, I am the complete opposite of those guys I see posting from time to time that say they have owned 27 bikes in the last 25 years or something of the sort. I was without a bike for a long time till I bought my Dyna. I have spent a bit of time and money making it comfortable and practical, while still liking the way it looked. I am finally mostly done with mods to it, unless I really break the bank and get into the motor. My dyna is comfortable, I can and have ridden it all day and still enjoy the ride. I have even done an Iron Butt on it. I finally have saddlebags on it that are sturdy and hold a bit. I am finally happy with my windshield. The bike runs good. Has been trouble free. Looks good and runs cool.

My main complaint has been that it doesn't handle as well as I'd like when I get into the twisties. Not having ever ridden a sport bike for any distance, I am never sure if the deficiencies are mine or the Dyna's when I get passed by the Beemers in the mountains. It hurts my pride, but I have to admit that I am sure at least part of the problem is me.

Here are the things that have kept me from already owning a Buell to this point.

I can't afford two bike payments right now and I have a few payments left on my Dyna.

The above mentioned things I like about my Dyna make me not want to sell/trade it, especially when I know I won't get a very good price for it today.

I don't particularly like the heat I have felt from several of the Buells I have ridden. I don't feel any heat off my Dyna. It is hot here in Florida and I don't want a bike I won't enjoy because of the heat it produces.

I have also been considering other bikes, such as the Ducati Multistrada and lately the Ducati Monster and HD XR1200. Since a bike purchase is obviously a major purchase for me, I want to be confident I am buying the right bike. I am yet to be as confident as I want to be about which bike to buy.

I am not even sure which Buell that I would buy. When the XT came out, I was sure it was the one for me. But I actually prefer the Outdoorsman bags and am considering the X instead. I also sometimes think I want the 1125r, but I am afraid I am too old and fat to ride it far. I know some people have put big miles on them, but I am not sure my body is up to that. I did 200 miles on my son's Duc Monster one day and I was glad to get off the bike when the ride was over.

So, now that I have gone completely off topic and written a long boring post maybe I should just stay off this board until I finally pull the trigger on something. If I ever do buy a Buell, I will say this site has been very valuable as a source of information. It has also been a nice community to be a psuedo part of, even if I do feel like a bit of an outsider.

Cheers
Dan

You could take a ride up to March Badness, but that would cause you to seal the deal on the XT : )

Oh, are you that old fart that was holding me up on the Blue Ridge last October? : D

dan, as it stands right now, i don't have to work friday, which gives me a 3 day weekend and if you want to stop by the house and check out the xt, your more than welcome. i live north of 60 off of parsons and the number is in the bran. and don't go up to march badness and test ride the x or xt. it took me all of about 1/2 hr to convince the wife to trade in the nightster for the xt.

It would of been only 15 minutes to convince her if you told her the bags act like airbags when you have an off-cliff excursion : )

You guys are too nice. Vern, you have to stay.

Froggy, I would really like to come to March Badness, but there is no way. I am currently working 2 jobs and let me just say I am finding it very challenging. I am not working the second job for the money, it is more helping out some people right now. I find it very fulfilling, but very draining and I have very little time for riding or anything else. Fortunately, I am able to bank most of what I am earning in my second job, which is temporary, and I have promised myself when the job ends and life gets more back to normal I will be buying another bike. I will have a fairly substantial down payment by then as well. That way I will buy it when I can ride more again, I will be able to keep my Dyna, and I will have minimal to no payments on the new bike. Unfortunately, that may not be for another ten months or so.

Nev, thanks for the offer. We live so close we are going to have to get together at some point. I'd love to go riding with you. I MIGHT have a bit of time Saturday. I'll PM you.

Dan
