Cold isn't the word I would use to discribe our temperature here in Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada. -44.9 is the coldest temp on record for here. When I look outside it's hard to believe that it will ever be warm enough to ride the Cyclone ever again. It's too cold to snowmobile which I am normally doing this time of year. Three days in a row, -39, -44.9 and tomorrow warming to -38. Wow, shiver me timbers and every other part of my body. So if you think it's cold where you are, think again. Have a great day people, and for those of you in California and Florida I envy you sssooooo much.

Holy POOP Thunderbox,

Here on the Sunny Seaside Resort of Newfoundland the temp is hovering at freezing on the celsius scale thats about 32 for you fellow Americans. However we are getting belted with SNOW.

Thunder is that -44 in celsius or fahrenheit because either I'd say if you hauled it out to pee the stream would freeze before it hit the ground.

Thunder, i can't even imagine. coldest temp i've ever personally experienced was -4 F., and i never wanna do that again.

it's been chilly here in my particular part of SoCal (Lake Isabella), but when i say "chilly" i mean low 30's-high 20's at night, and perhaps as high as 65-70 on occasion during the day.

so far this winter i've ridden every day i wanted to, and only got wet once, when i rode up into the snow on purpose just to say i did.

in about a month Spring should hit with a vengeance, along with temps back up in the 80's/90's.

anyway, not boasting, just trying to explain why i chose to live HERE and not THERE : )

hope you get thru it ok.

ride to lean,

First off Newf there is no frigging way I am going to take the thing out in this weather to see if the pee freezes before it hits the ground. I bet this temp would work faster and better than viagra har har! And that temp is in C which F and C are equal at -40 we are colder than -44.9 F but by how much who gives a sh t. Har Har!

We are or marbe I am the temp king of Buelldom. I have been out boosting vehicles all morning. Seems some of the cops couldn't be bothered to plug in the cars.

At first I thought that couldn't be right because M'waukee has hit -60f before but then I remembered that that was a wind chill so it was probably only -20f or somethin'. I know I have ridden in below freezing, right now there just too much crap on the road to consider it.

-44 without wind chill ?
Nevermind vehicles what about keeping your house warm ?
What kind of heat do you have ?
It actually hasn't been above freezing where we are in NJ for weeks now. I've burned through a cord of wood and several hundred gallons of fuel oil since the beginning of December.

Yes Kenb thats without windchill. So far we are not getting the wind we had yesturday but we need a wind eventually to blow this weather away and something nicer in.

How do we heat the house. With lots of natural gas. It helps to have 6 inch walls also. There is no way I am going in the hot tub tonight. Yikes.

when it's that cold, and you NEED your vehicles to start in the AM (specially big old deisels), the best thing to do is to drain the crankcase in the afternoon, right after your last run, stoer the oil inside over night, and pour it back into the motor in the morning . . .. . SOP in the Republic Of Korea, btw . . .. .

gee, the useful things I remember . .. . .

Supposed to be around 64 here today in Phoenix. It's due to heat up to the high 60's by Friday, possibly 70.

Of course, on the flip side, it gets up to 120 plus in the summer - you can't have it all, it seems...

-12 F in Minneapolis right now. The low tonight is supposed to be -18!

BluzM2,
I'm in south Minneapolis. In the NW suburbs it's probably quite a bit colder. You'll probably be under -20 tonight!

Has anybody tried taking a coffee cup of hot water out into these temps and throwing the water in the air? It totally vaporizes! It's cool! The outside temp has to be below about -15 F and the water has to be hot. If the water is just warm, it doesn't work right. I don't understand the physics of it. You would think that the water should be cold.

It's almost 70 here in the Inland Empire (so.cal) during the days, 40ish in the mornings. Dry heat or humid, its all miserable in the summer past 100, but better than being that cold in the winter for sure. I feel for you Thunderbox!
