Today was tire mounting and balancing day. Terri had 15,500 miles on her Pirelli Diablo T's and my Stradas had 13,500 on them (eat your heart out, Ft_bstrd). We bought two sets of Stradas from Southwest Moto Tire a couple of weeks ago, and they were waiting in the garage, so I jumped in and got the job done.
Anyway, my service manual specifies that the axles should be coated with Never Seize when the wheels are being installed. Why doesn't the factory do this? Three of the four axles had nasty white corrosion on them, and I had to spend a good bit of time with a Scotch Brite pad to get them cleaned up. The axles on my '06 Uly were the same way. I learned from the '06 to have a large plastic dead blow hammer handy to beat on the swing arm to get the axle to slide out and not spread the swing arm.
Anyway, I like my NoMar tire changer and balancing stand, even if I'm neither as fast nor as smooth as the guy on the instructional video is. I love my XT, and Terri loves her Ss. Life is pretty damned good.

Just move the decimal and that was within 500 miles of what I got out of MY Strada.

I hope to be back burning copious amounts of rubber and petroleum soon.

Got my Stradas on the other day, If I can get 18k on a Sync, the Strada should last till the motor needs to be rebuilt : D

I've had both my XB's rear wheels off several times and they were coated with never seize from the factory. I've never added to them or wiped off what was there.........just being careful not to contaminate what is there. No problems.

Well gee whiz Crusty if you weren't so dadburned far away, I'd help you get some more practice with that new NoMar. We could get you video worthy before long. I'm going to have to use the blood and sweat method!

I pulled my axle out of my ol' Cyclone the other day, just a little bit of rust.

Funny thing, the wheel jumped up and down as I turned the axle.

I've got a NoMar here at the shop and it works great. Unfortunately when I use it I look more like the gal in the blooper video than the guy in the instruction video.

Hey Ed, is that from the M2 that tried to fly?

That's the one! Now it's bent my level!

After that video, I don't think I could run a NoMar anyway!
