Tripped over it around 11am, or 10:30, or something like that Sunday morning. Supposed to be on during the week as well. I saw their stage setup behind the showroom/parts area one day a week or three ago while I was down there kicking tires. Haven't seen any ads for it, but it's probably noted on their web site.

What did ya buy???
Uh, nothing. Apparently their "take anything in on trade" is selectively applied.

Mike...Di saw it sometime Sat evening or Sun morning during the Infomercial time slots. Must have been a rerun of sorts for filler.

FYI, Hal's was advertising that they will take any brand in on trade. Saw some old UJM stuff there a few months back. LOL

Yeah, Hal's had that oldish Triumph Trophy(?) in there once for almost a year. Don't know if they sold it or buried it in the back someplace. According to the show Suburban is taking in powered skateboards and snowmobiles on trade, they even had a pickup for sale on the show that was a trade-in.
I don't know what the show is an indication of, beyond a sign that the days that the bikes sell themselves may be over.
They seem like a decent bunch of people down there, so I'm trying to see how the show shakes out. I did take a television production class once and produced my own 30 second commercial so I am a little sympathetic of what goes into the production of a 30 minute show.
Time will tell how it goes, and what it means.

Reality Channel...Bwahaha. Sorry Dana, Di forgot and I only opened one ear. Hope Mike knows.

Actually, it is a pretty neat idea to do some promotional sales events in the off season. Keeps the interest going in the winter doldrums.

This week, I wish the X1 were a snowmobile. Next week, probably a personal helicopter and the week after a motorcycle again. Just going through severe PMS not that the flu is over.

That Waukesha dealer ends up being something like 55 miles from my house. Quite a bit more than 20. I worked in Hartland which isnt much further away & that was 65 miles each way.

For just fishin', Newfie caught me hook, line and sinker. Now that would be a neat toy! Sure would come in handy on day's like today. Am getting ready to head out for the second snow shoveling session. Damn, that driveway is long. Ugh.

But I love the Honeys they have working at Corse.: D

Plus they have Aprilias, KTM, & MV's to drool over. They are pretty much dumping the cafe deal they have tho. Its going to be more of a coffee bar..no more restaurant & the KTM's are going to be back there.

Hmmm...the X1 has now officially outlived my Toro, top of the line and bigger than my Miata, SnowBlower. The electric starter fell off and the duct tape, bailing wire, wire ties and super glue I am used to using just doesn't work.

Wonder if someone could send Erik over to redesign the snow blower so it works as well as my X1?

Pray for Global Warming!!!

Gang Bangers??? Who said anything about that. I was referring to the roving groups ranging from 8 to 18 that are equipped to raid Syria if only they could steal a 747 to get there. LOL

Naa...NY, LA and ChiTown have the gangs. We are just the minor leagues. Thank God they are bad shots.

Ought to hear the Mayor-Pro-Temp's radio commercials about making this a wonderful place to live complete with spiritual church music and the "right-on's" freely flowing in the background. I kind of like the idea. Wonder what Psy-Ops Spooks would say about it?

your mayor pro-tem sounds like a real, ehem, piece of work, Brer Bill

Oh...We call them "Police."

I actually think the mayor can do a decent job. It was just the shock value of the commercial. Almost like the "I had a Dream" thing.

Think he is going for "Home Values." Hope to catch the inside story. One of my close friends is very high up in City Hall and on the inside of everything by job description.

Back on topic, Since HD dealers can't put resorces to market Buell and be cost effective next to HD's on the floor. The Buell riders aren't into the service dept the way HD riders are. Parts are minimal in comparison with chrome knobbits. Sombody has to realize this at HD eventually.
HD comes at it a HD is a dresser and the others are "custom". The ego riders buy up the "custom" side and what a deal the dealers have had.
Buell is a different animal. Sportbikes traditionally are marketed by racing and/or this years super improvement like looseing 2 lbs or gaining 2 hp. Then, with a race winning sportbike they will offer grades of streetability like naked R1's and such.
I still believe a XB1350RR would help. Not that everybody would want one, but it would get R6 buyers looking and when they grow up buying a HD product be it Buell or HD.
OK, that's my soapbox. Just out of curiousity, does Hal's sell alot of Buells? As in per market area since they are so visible in racing?

If it was priced more in line with the R6 & was actually out there on the track & beating those very bikes then yes it would stand a chance.

As for Hals...I dont have the actual numbers, but going by what the members of our Brag chapter say..we are Hals..I would say not a lot. I mean we even have Hals Brag members going to buy bikes from Dave in Iowa. That should tell you something.

And for this area since we are so close to East troy, you might suprised by how rare a Buell sighting atually is. I can ride for weeks & weeks & unless I attend a Brag function I wont see 1 Buell the entire time.

Sportsman...Let's just say Hal's Buell Manager left before both the Buell 20th and the HD 100th and there has been no mention of replacing him.

Perhaps one of the remaining Hal's Brew City BRAG members has a clue.

The number of HD/HOG people attending AMA Superbike races is not as high now as it was when HD raced the VR1000. The AMA knows this and would love to have those fans back. I'm sure this was part of the motivation to allow air cooled bikes, like Buell, "unlimited modifications" in the new Formula Extreme class.

The question now is will the Buell teams show up, and will the HD/Buell fans show up to see them?

IF HD/Buell can motivate HD/Buell race fans to cheer Buells on at the AMA Superbike events, it will benefit them all. Which is why last year's Buell race accomplishments were prominently reported in HD magazines (Enthusiast, HOG tales, American Iron, etc.)

But racing a Buell is expensive, especially considering that your first $1600-2500 will be spent converting the bike to a chain drive.

A special race ready "RR" version available to licensed racers at competitive prices and the carrot of good contingency money and technical support would do wonders in getting more bikes out there.

You know, kind of like what Triumph just announced for people that want to race the Daytona 600 here in the US...

Jose, whats weird is that I went to RA a number of times to see the VR1000 compete & you are correct that it did draw the HD fans in. But then the Buells would come out for the pro thunder races & the HD fans would flock to the food vendors or the souvenir shop.

There is a huge amount of segregation there between the classes, & I dont know if racing a Buell & winning would be enough to bring throngs of HD faithfuls into the tracks.

jose: $ 1600 for two sprockets, a length of 530, and an adjustable tension wheel? it cost about $200 to switch my sportster to steel drive.

Your sporty has an adjustable swing arm, the XB's dont. Thats where the majority of the $$$ goes.

The tension wheel only has so much play & if you race at a variety of tracks you will be switching gears quite often. Easier, faster & safer in my opinion to eliminate the tensioner & go with the swing arm.
