How do i get that bolt loose, that thing is on there. the manual says use a special tool. the hd guy said heat the bolt. the manual says reverse threads. the hd guy says regular threads. help please | ||

1 and 7/8 inch socket. Impact wrench and yes it is reverse threads... | ||

if you are talking about the transmission sprocket, take the lock plate off first, and the sprocket nut IS left handed. the manual says to place in 1st gear and remove nut. i believe there is a tool to hold the sprocket while you do this, but when i did mine a few years ago, i didn't use one. i used an air impact and it came off pretty easy. (just remember it is left-handed thread!) if you don't have an air impact, you can use my other trick, with a breaker bar and socket, or long boxed end wrench, apply tension to the nut, CW, then whack the snot out of the end of the breaker bar/wrench handle with a BFH! this method has also worked for me. good luck! | ||

Using the locking tool is the cats meaaaooow! It is the only safe way to remove the front nut. |
