recently bought a new xb9sx the only question that I have is when I snap the throttle quick when its idling it will bog. if I roll the throttle slower it doesn't bog. i have been told several different things. i have been told that buells just do that. that it will go away after I put some miles on the bike. I need to buy different plugs and I need to mod my air box. any suggestions?

Are you on the bike and riding it from idle, or sitting still in neutral?

Buell engines don't like to be revved up when sitting static. If you like the sound start it, get on it, and ride the crap out of it. Starting the bike for anything other than riding it will risk fouling the plugs. As a rule of thumb, I do not cold start my bikes more than two times without getting in at least ten miles of riding. IMHO if you are gonna start it and rev it just for the hell of it, you may as well beat on it with a hammer too.

They also need that full warm up cycle to keep from drawing moisture into the oils. Several people have had problems with the primary oil turning into a mocca-shake from short tripping in the winter.

I don't think it is a v-twin thing, I think it is a Buell thing. My HD doesn't have a problem with rev'ing the motor in neutral, neither does my son's Ducati. I am not savvy enough to tell you what about the Buell is different that causes this problem, but it is common among Buells.

I have the race ECM on mine and throttle response off idle is fine.A TPS setting that is not "spot on" could also be part of your problem.
