I wonder who could possibly visit him IN JAIL though  . I suppose that being a political figure he'll be well protected etc... Still not justice though, I agree. You ever listen to Metallica? 100 days,gets out after 30 but has to do 10 hours community service every day...and can't drive for 3 years...hell,he obviously couldn't drive anyway.I think it's just wrong...I would get more for less.Oh yeah,also a $5000 fine and has to pay $100 each day he's in..... edited by 2rangerted on January 22, 2004 | ||

Unfortanaly(sp) a friend of mine hit and killed a guy walking along the side of the road in a snow storm.Person killed had just had a fight with his wife,so police don't know if it could have been suicide,for being bumbed out over the fight,but my buddy is looking at 10 yr. with a look at doing 3 of the 10 his attorney told him. Things just are not the same on the ol scale of justice. Hell Janklow will probably get the road renamed after him!The PRICK! | ||

that is total bull pucky...and it is pure political crap. I am alive today after a drunk took me out and left the scene but was caught. he is in for a total of three years and 2 years probation. and That is a a full 3 years he'll do. his record wasn't as bad as janklows. sure he left the scene and now its a felony. but the fact remains I am alive. Money changes everything in our wonderful and so imperfect justice system. he killed a guy....I think they should change the wording from manslaughter to...unintentional murder. because he ment to run the stop sign he didn't mean to kill the guy. But thats what he did unintentionaly. so he did murder the guy. he just didn't mean 2. hell I wish he'd just run the stop sign and not hit the guy. but then get pulled over with a big ol bag of dope. hell then he woulda got 10 years for hurting nobody. | ||

If it was a soccer mom it would have been time served.  Justice, true justice, is often delayed and often unpublicized.  There are plenty of riders and bikers in the penal system. 30 days is probably the longest they could guarantee his safety for. | ||

That was the harsher sentence, his attorney was trying to get the court to order the next of kin to come in so they could apologize to him for getting in his way. | ||

Att:Bomber I was a member for a No. of years. as I moved over seas for a No. of yrs. I did drop out,Upon returning to the USA I did not rejoin. Having said that I will follow this case close as the family has a civil suit againest him, if the AMA comes to thier rescue and gets a large settlement I will re join if not I may just let it slide. I also think that Judge Rodeny Steele should be releaved of his duties. | ||

This case is getting lots of interest from runners and bicyclists as well. I dare say this "sentence" will not soon be forgotten nor go quietly away. | ||

Been hit twice on a bicyle, both times I think it was fortunate I was hit, real low speed, I wasn't hurt and the drivers were shaken up. Hopefully they learned their lesson. | ||

While the AMA certainly has room for improvement (huge understantement), they are one of the few nation-wide organizations that do look out for scooter-rider rights . . . . . . we've been members in my house for a while, for that reason alone (goodness knows the competition side of the house has sucked fumes for decades, and shows no signs of improvong anytime soon) | ||

Didn't Rome have some trouble there near the end with the people turning on the senate???  Wasn't it mostly for reasons like this? History repeats itself my friends. Do I need to mention that our brothers/sons ARE the military? I was watching an old movie about the Alamo last night and one of the characters mentioned that he was fighting for the "American" way... where the people owned the government. Everyone in the room laughed out loud when he said that. | ||

one of the unusual things about our country is that the military has never really turned on the goverment . . . the idea of the Eighty-Deuece rolling up Pennsylvania Avenue is as foreign to most US citizens as it is familiar to those of other countries . . . I hope I never live to see the like -- it's one fo the strengths of the concept of the citizen-soldier, and a good argument for a universal draft. if I was in a trolling mood, I'd comment on the party affiliation of the murderer (grin), but I ain't, so I won't (bigger grin) | ||
