Well, I consider myself fairly well read and having a somewhat large vocabulary... but I am reading this federal document for work and I keep running across these words I don't know.

I looked the first one up in the dictionary... but the rest I was wondering if any of you knew what they meant? Hint: a lot of this is legalise (legal language).

1.abrogate
2.congener
3.sequestration
4.carcinogenicity

I think the last one is pretty easy. Do I need a new job???

i am sure Mikej will run with this
NO CHEATING!

1.abrogate
Getting someone else to do it.
2.congener
Sort of like a co-conspiriter, see #1.
3.sequestration
Something to do with horses.
4.carcinogenicity
A place where a non-smoker works that allows smoking indoors.

How'd I do?

Go back to your dictionary and check again.
1. Sort of.
2. Why not in an obtuse sort of way.
3. Could be indirectly.
4. Absolutely because I currently work here.
Should be worth at least a 0.5 for creative interpretation of non-cheating definitions.

Was almost up your way today to attend a funeral in Antigo, but the weather and work issues prevented the trip.

As a federal employee...

The "more intelligent" the document sounds... the greater the chance the author will impress his bosses and get a cash award for the work product. Now add to that attorneys either producing or reading the document... and latin is included!

If you were wondering... I work for the Department of Redundancy Department

Scoring rules.
0 0f 4 - Good job!
1 of 4 - It was probably just something you saw
in a newspaper
2 of 4 - You should consider getting a couple
new friends.
3 of 4 - You should try talking to humans once
in awhile.
4 of 4 - There's no hope.

Well I am in a quandry here anyhow...
But I like my job
I like the snow...
The air
The trees and
where I live...

Problem is:
This is a true story so don't laugh too hard...

A freind from Madison and I were at the local BAIT SHOP the other day...
renting some movies and trying on some
FULL BODY FOX HATS...
waiting for the owner to take our picture in front of the STUFFED FISHER over by the worms...

So this (not bad looking) guy says something to the effect that fur is very warm and they wear it in Russia. Now this caught my interest, as I have long been dreaming of traveling to Kamchatka to see the polar bears, take the trans-siberian railroad and try out some pidgin Russian on some poor innocent bystander...

(I know I am rambling... Mikej has affected me)

So I say to this dude... you have been to Russia? He replies, "yes" and I am going back there tomorrow... to the Ukraine. I ask why...

well...he tells me the story of his American (second) ex-wife and how she wanted him to work three jobs to please her material wants... and then she left him... and how he will not date American women anymore.

Interestingly enough I ask what this has to do with Russia? Well, I go over there to 'date' (euphimism for 'ummm errrr you-know-what)... and I start to chuckle. Well, of course...

The guy says "this women's rights thing has gone too far" ....
WHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAA! This is a fine looking man, who obviously has some dough (because he showed me his wallet full of rubles or whatever the heck they use in Russia)...

and I am thinking...

Am I doomed to a life of being single if I stay here? Yes, I have thought this before... but I thought this sort of back-wooods butt-f***** only was a myth of the northwoods.

Funny thing is he was very well spoken, good looking and didn't smell at all... but the mentality of some people.

What the heck... my friend and I had a good laugh at it.

So to ramble a little more and answer your question Bomber... I don't need a new job, my job is cool and I learn a lot and I beleive in what I am doing. I just wonder if I should get my airplane pilot's license and look into buying a helicopter if I want to be with a man that won't expect me to scrub the floors and cook up his grub...

Anyhow,

The first one and last one I know what they mean..
1.abrogate=to abolish (promulgate=to do for someone else I think).
4.carcinogenicide-ality has to do with making other people breath your smelly, stinky, nasty smoke filled air.

Walllaaa.

Whatever, you seem to be in a similar position to a friend of mine. She's attractive, intelligent, and independent. She rides a motorcycle. She owns her own business. She hasn't had a real date in over a year. I think run of the mill men are intimidated by women like you two. Good thing there aren't many run of the mill men frequenting this board. My current wife (of 33 years) has chosen this woman as my next wife. She says the only stipulation is she can't have the jewelry. My wife has good taste. Only trouble is, my next wife is fourteen years younger than me. Hope I can keep up. Any man worth his salt should be able to do his own (and yours)cooking.

I have dated a few rednecks (plan c and plan d) since I moved up here and it just doesn't work for me... but Chris (CJ) on the other hand would be in hog-heaven I think.... ; )

I will just resign myself to the life of a Buell riding buddhist nun (plan b)... who likes to flirt... ah well. Now I really have to get back to work.

4. carcinogenic is a cancer causing agent. ity = the degree of which it causes such an action. so I believe that the definition is; the degree or amount in which a substance causes cancer.

the other 3, not without a dictionary for fear of looking like a complete idiot.
