I have the best HD boots i rode with back in highschool, they're real slender, no frills... to bad I can't use them on my X1, I miss shifts all the time! LOL

I just wear my New Balance black running shoes and call it a day.

This discussion comes up every couple of months or so. My answer never changes:

Best damned all-around boot I've ever owned.

Love my Altama Ultra Lite boots. Very light and cool. They are as light as a pair of good sneakers but give great ankle support and great grip when walking. They also did a great job protecting my feet when I crunched my Blast.

Get them on the internet from US Cavalry for less than a hundred bucks.

Justin cowboy boots! My heel hooks nicely on the footpeg and the pointy toe makes for good shifting hehehe!

how bout a black tactical style slender boot?

i ask because i bought a pair of icon heavy duty buckle style boots and they were ginormous and i could barely get them between the shifter at all! lol but riding in regular shoes is a little sketchy to me

I just purchased some Milwaukee boots at the Chicago IMS. I haven't wore them much yet, but they are ease to get on and off.

How close do the sizes run? I wear a 14 but if their 13s run big I may be able to run them.

I've always liked Chippewa Rally boots. Very comfortable, similar to race boots, but more conservatively styled. They come in wide sizes, which I need, with adjustable shafts.
Pretty durable. I should know - I crashed while wearing a pair. My feet and ankles came out fine. The boots did, too.

I'll put in another vote for the Combat Lites. I bought a pair last year sometime, and I wear them when I ride to school. They're comfortable enough to walk around in all day, waterproof in a heavy storm, and pretty durable. I haven't had to test their crashworthiness, but they sure feel like they'd protect my feet and ankles.

"Boot" brings back bad memories when I was told to ask my Plt Sgt for a box of grid squares.

I frequently ride in my work boots, they're Bates 8" waterproof duty boots - good grip and comfortable enough to run in. They've got a side zip with a flap to seal out the water so you lace them up snug then use the zipper for getting them on/off. Can't attest to waterproofness in extreme conditions since if it's raining hard I will only ride with my Sidi's on (Vertebra Tepor) - better protection if it goes bad and I don't have to re-polish my work boots so soon =]

Just like these:
http://www.uniformfootwear.com/order/2268.htm

They've been on a few longer rides too and remain very comfortable as far as boots go. Good ankle support and around $100, which is cheaper than many cycle boots but still a protective boot. Look fine with jeans, cargo pants, or dockers too.

A local police or uniform supply store should stock them...

You can find them for less.

I've had them for 4 seasons, and they are still in great shape.

Great in the summer.
