I'd just like some input on getting a motorcycle shipped. Any experience good or bad someone has had. |

I just had an X1 shipped Florida -> Oklahoma by JC Motors. Cost me $519 and if I remember correctly, it was about three weeks between the day I scheduled transport and the day the bike showed up. That's the only time I've had a bike shipped but I think they did a real nice job. $7000 in insurance was included with the price, and more is available for an extra charge. Not a huge deal, but a bike cover w/ soft inner liner is used to ship the bike and you get to keep the cover once the bike is delivered. The delivery drivers communicated with myself and the previous owner very efficiently to coordinate pickup and dropoff. Damage was inspected for on each leg of the delivery route. That's my experience - hope it helps. |

cool. that helps a lot. I was just looking at JC. Sounds like a good company to. I was on cycletrader.com and they have guidelines on how to go about purchasing unseen vehicles and what a shipping company should do. Thank you. |

I had my XB shipped from Minnesota about a year ago. I used Haul Bikes. http://www.haulbikes.com/ They were excellent, the driver called me every few days with updates, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. |

Plus one on Haul Bikes! Give Roxy there a call. Only a major snow storm slowed them down. Very impressive equipment, no pallets, double decked trailer. Al, the driver knew how to strap my new/old S2 down correctly. Always in contact once the move started. Cost was $522. from Northern WI to central NC. Good folks, good price. |

I've shipped mine a couple times over the years and my experience has been wildly different. The first time, I basically just picked on from an internet search and went with them--not a good choice. The next time, i did a little comparison shopping & it worked out much better, both in terms of service & cost. One thing I found helpful was the a1autotransport.com motorcycle shipping companies directory. They ship bikes themselves, but that resources has some good information on others that do the same. |
