I searched, some of the old threads were way too old to repost. Anyways, delete this if its been beaten to death: I can't find any Buell "suits" to wear. I have a 2 peice armored race/track suit that zips together. I'd like to have Buell logos put on, but not patches. I really like the replica MotoGP suits the Jap bike guys have, like Kawaksaki and Suzuki. Is there no Buell track suits? Or is there a way to customize my suit with Buell logos as it is, not patches, but real graphics. Its all leather., 2 peice, zips together. A 2 peice track suit with the Pegasus and Buell logos on it and the pants would be awesome! A little squiddy, but I'm 22 so its cool to me. |

Vanson used to make Buell's jackets and suits. They no longer do. I think Joe Rocket is the new Buell licensed leather ware company. What I would do is: Get a suit that you like that fits and has the features that you want, or Get a suit custom made. Any leathersmith should be able to make your logos and sew them to your suit. Try contacting Lizzy Leathers (search google). She has a great reputation. I can also put you in touch with my leather guy who used to work for Vanson and may be able to get you the logo. PM me for details about that. |

SWEET, the Lizzy leathers place was perfect. I googled a bunch of different sites but never got an actual place that customized suits. Thanks Eb! |

Email Lizzy, ZCustom, Syed, NJK and others - make sure they'll do a logo. You might have to buy a Buell logo patch from Buell. There are copyright issues. I know when I had ZCustom make my suit, they told me that I could use the word "Buell" but that they couldn't just construct the Buell logo and that I'd have to buy an embroidered patch for them to sew on. Just a heads up. |

Does this mean that Vanson can no longer make "Buell" suits?? |

I guess it means that they can no longer make the logo, but you can still get a suit made in their colors and patterns, but you would need to get the logo some other way. |

Wow, got a whole list Eb, thanks!! I emailed Lizzy and told her if I had to (and possible) I would get authorization from Buell. I want a large pegasus logo on the back of my jacket, and Buell logos on arms, legs and possibly front of jacket as well. Something that looks semi-replica race suit. Maybe even a firebolt or XB9R logo somewhere as well. I know its squiddy, but its not fair the Jap guys get the branded suits and we get just jackets. I would think Buell would be cool with it, seeing as theyre a very customer oriented company. I'm racking up some big bills come this spring. Thanks EB! |

As a custom one off, Vanson will still put logos' like the pegasus on a suit. You are ordering a custom and they will make it to your specifications (I'm in that process right now as a matter of fact). The colors you want, (within reason and budget constraints) the lettering and patches etc. Patches like Buell logos etc. can be purchased from a dealer like some of the fine sponsors here and for a small fee they (Vanson or Lizzy or the like) will sew them where you want and seal them in plastic to help protect them. If you're serious about what you want, they can do it, just don't try and order a production run from them and you should be fine. |

Cool. What I was wondering though is if their patches, will they look good? I don't wanna have my jacket look like some harley guys jacket. I LOVE the race replica suits the Japanese bikes get, like Kawasakis. But besides patches, what about other logos, like on the sleeves and legs and such. I hope they make orange patches if this works, no production, just 1 for my squid self Also, i already have the suit, so I wont be ordering another, just customization of the one I already own (jackets4bikes) |

The problem with doing logos on suits is the amount of deconstruction and reconstruction involved with adding patches after the suit is made. The factory guys with the good looking suits are constructed with the logos added during the build up. Even the work that I did on my suit required some tear down and build up.

That looks pretty badass!! Oh yeah, I didn't even think about the process of altering a suit. How long did that take you? Maybe my moms could help but I am liking Lizzys site. Guess I gotta take out all the armor and stuff as well when I get it done. |

Took mine a week from a former Vanson employee who just does this out of his house. I was on a bit of a budget, or else I would have jazzed it up a bit (backgrounds, playing with colors, ect). Superbike Toy Store paid to have their name on it, so the stuff that I did didn't cost all that much. I also hooked him up with a tip. |

Lizzy just hooked me up with a bunch of alterations and she put some lettering on it for me as well. She cut the letters out of leather and sewed them on. I will post pictures here when someone in my family wants to do it for me. |

I really, really appreciate the help guys. This site is the best, really. Now comes the hard part-design! Since I'm getting a repaint and have to fix some stuff from the hit and run, I REALLY want to redo my bike in the same theme, but orange flames on black, and get all the chrome bits (frame, forks, clipons, etc.) blacked out with some speedzilla mirrors to top it off. So since my suit is already black, as are my gloves and helmet, I was going with the orange/black theme. Thinking large orange Pegasus on back with Buell logo underneath, Buell logo across front seperated by the zipper of course, Buell logos on the forearms where the armor is, Buell down both legs with mini-pegasus', and possibly Buell across the butt lol. Maybe even rattle can the sliders orange as well. Defintley an American flag on one shoulder, and thr Maryland flag on the other, but my mom or sister can swe those on themselves.Top it with orange windscreen and orange powdercoat my wheels. Hows the suit sound? It would look kinda "official" like the Kawi guys have, right? (Message edited by b00stzx3 on January 23, 2009) |

By the way - the ONLY way you can get authorization from Buell would be if you could buy an embroidered logo. Doubt that they'd give you permission to go any farther than to buy something off the shelf in the Company store or catalog. Harley zealously guards ALL uses of their copyrighted stuff. Belive me, we've tried a bunch of ways but the major leather shops won't knowingly violate any copyrights. There's a Buell Racing patch about 10 x 4 inches for example. Fits perfectly on your shoulders. That can be sewn on by the leather manufacturer. |

Try http://www.spartanleathers.com/ They are making me a custom suit, a Buell leather logo on the back was $20.00 and leather Buell logo shoulder patches was another $20.00. I plan to sew my other sponsor patches on when I get the suit. |

I think Barnacle bill's will do the sort of work you are looking for too. They do a lot of custom work and repair of other manufacturers suits and have done so for racers for a LONG time. |

Syed Leathers is located on the east coast, and I hear that they have very fast turn around time compared to Vanson. As I understand it, the owner used to work for Vanson, then left to start his own business. They have a great reputation, even up here in Vanson country. |

Cool Coo, thanks for the tips guys. I got plenty of places to choose from now. As for HD, what they don't know won't hurt em. I'm not gonna be making any money doing, this, I will probably be spending alot! |

Just for poops and giggles, Buell gear is now being made by Joe Rocket and they just came out with a new 2 piece Jacket/Pant combo. Checkout Buell's website to see them. |

Pshhhhh!! 350 for the pants alone, 400+ for the jacket. I like the design, but not in blue. I like my Jackets4bikes gear much better, came with good armor, not lightweight stuff. And for 250 total on the whole suit, thats cheaper than buells pants ro jacket. +1 on the tip though, I gotta template for what I want. |

I kind of like that suit on the Japan site. I wonder what's up with the BRAG symbol on that site? I thought BRAG was no more.???? (Message edited by 12x9sl on January 28, 2009) |

Glitch, is that the only one available? I can't find any more, so pretty much decided on the custom route. Black and Orange FTW, match my bikes new paintscheme. |
