so i got to thinking... why the 1125CR bars are 1" at the clamp, and then taper down to 7/8"?
i don't see the advantage here.... only that buell has the monopoly on replacement handle bars.

am i way out on a limb here, or does anyone know the reason or rhyme?

Are they aluminum? If so, probably has to do with stress points.

Aluminum is a building material. If it weren't so light it'd be useless.

You can get any "fat bar" from multiple sources (Renthal, ProTaper, etc.). The taper bars have been used to provide additional strentgh at the center where the clamps affix the bar to the top clamps.

Although the bars are the same diameter at the grips, aluminum isn't as strong as the steel bars of the same diameter.

Having the fatter center provides additional strength against flex and fracture.

Dirt bikes ONLY use fat bar if they are aluminum.
