I and my brothers have inherited a park model home near Naples, so provided my brother who thinks he's to good to be seen with the trailer trash doesn't give it away, er, sell it I may be wintering in sunny Florida. I'm debating whether to bring the Buell or a BMW airhead down here. How's the dealer, etc. support for Buells down here?

thanks in advance,

Gainesville is the only good dealer I know of in Florida, but I am not a resident of FL. I just looked it up, its over a 4 hour drive, there should be someone else that is closer.

Fletcher's in Clearwater is good as well as Seminole in Orlando. Orlando would obviously be closer to you. Other than that...I don't know. Unless I have an issue I'm not comfortable dealing with myself, I take it to Brandon.

I live in Bonita Springs, Fl. (Just north of Naples).
The Harley dealership in Naples is a boutique with high employee turnover. The employees can be nice but not real knowledgeable. They will not touch a Buell. I have ordered parts for my 2002 X1 from them but I have to tell them it is for a 2002 Sportster because they are so ignorant about Buells.
The Ft Myers HD-Buell shop is owned by the same guy as the Naples shop and they are more Buell friendly and by my experience are more in the know. They have a few Buell parts in stock, but will order whatever you need. (It is best if you know what you need.) BTW the sales manager Randy Martin rides a Uly.
As for the BMW- Gulf Coast Cycles http://www.gcmotorcycles.com/ is a newer shop in the area with very experienced techs. (One tech in their shop has been a certified BMW tech for 20+ years.) I called and asked specifically about the service of airheads and the service manager admitted that they keep fewer parts on hand for the airheads, but promised the best possible service and assistance to you.

While you are down- you may want to check out Harley's top secret test track at:
5301 34th Ave. S.E.
Naples, Fl 34117

HD Ft Myers is the closest Buell dealer, they're OK for parts. Port Charlotte another 1/2 hour north has a Buell dealer too. I don't do dealers. PM me if you need a hand. Bring the Buell, I keep my Beamer is in the storage room.
