As a sports fan on the outside looking in - the whole BCS setup appears Bogus.

Championship by committee.

Tebow coming back.
Spikes reportedly will too.
Harvin publically stated that he is leaning toward coming back but will meet with coach Meyer and make an announcement Monday.

Great to be a FL Gator.

Been gone for a while and have to chime in here...The NCAA and BCS could easily do a playoff where nobody would lose any money.

Here's all they have to do!!!

Return the regular season to 11 games.
Then this is how the playoff system would work...You take each conference champ there would be 11 of them then you take the next 5 top non champs with the highest BCS ranking to fill the 16 team playoff (doing this would help those team who had 1 loss like Texas USC etc.)

The 1st round would work like this...All teams would be seeded by BCS rankings...The 8 games played in round 1, the higher ranked team would have homefield advantage...Round 2 would be the same as round 1. Then you would have a final 4 where those two games would be played in 2 of the big BCS bowls...with the winners playing in the BCS championship bowl a week later...As for all the other bowl games the way they would work. The teams who lost in round 1 and 2 along with any other bowl eligible team would play in them...And be selected as they normally would be.

Now if a guy who made it threw high school and never had a day of college could figure this out...You can be sure the NCAA and BCS could do it. It would take just a tiny bit of tweaking to get the schedule but it can be done without a doubt.

I hate to be disagreeable but its that kind of day here in Minnesota. The point is to stop the arguments about who is the best college football team. Playing the games will never end this argument.

Neutral fileds would be needed for all "important" games and critical athletes would need to be healthy for all of the games. Without neutral fields and a fully healthy team the arguments will still go on and more college athletes will be injured thus depriving us of watching them play at the professional level. Not to mention the fact that they will never earn enough income to survive in the real world after their career ending injuries.

Always remember that we are subjecting a lot of teenage athletes to significant risk just to stop an argument. I say ten games and a bowl are all that is needed and let the arguing commence. We sure as hell don't need those idiots in congress "helping".

Keep the current bowl games the way they are, then take the top 4 most impressive wins and let those teams play again for the next two weekends till you have your champions. How can this hurt, it just adds more excitement to the end of the season.

Anybody ever see the video of the Texas Tech guy ringing the bell on the sidelines?

As I said, return the season to 11 games from the current 12 right now a lot of the confrences have a championship games like Florida, OU, Mizz etc. played 14 games last year the way i described the playoffs no team would play more than 14 games except the 2 playing for the title. only the final four would play on neutral fields and the final four would play in 2 of the big 4 BCS bowls with the winners playing in the title game at another neutral field. No money would be lost as long as my playoff system would be used. Most teams play 12 or 13 games. Going back to 11 games season would make it work.

And... A true championship team can over come injuries and playing at any stadium anywhere...Div. II and III do it Div. I can too.

For crying out loud NCAA Div. I football is the only major sport without a playoff. If NASCAR can do it...The NCAA and BCS Div. I football can too.
