just got a recall notice from Mother. i guess the horn wire can rub on a long horn mounting bolt. dealer will fix with a short bolt/reroute, and possible chafing gear on the offending wire.
affected vehicles are lightnings built from 23 june 2003 through 27 august 2003.

That warranted a recall? I would think a service bulletin would have sufficed.

the whole recall kit consist of a bolt and a nut and a wire fix if needed.

I think service bulletin would have sufficed

i think i will just cut off excess bolt length, file smooth, and put some heat shrink tubing over the wire. not so sure i want some one in there diddling around with my wires. looks like a cool storage area for some spare headlight bulbs. and maybe a spare glock magazine.

Interesting dates for this problem. It was probably the anticipation of the 20th Anniversary that caused the distraction and wire/bolt problem. After the party, and when all of those Harley types were in town, they were able to concentrate and realized their mistake.

Moral - It's all Spidey's fault.

And a Happy New Year to everyone on the BADWEB.
