They are having a sale on the Buell acc seats during the winter dealer meeting next month. Limited quantities available. Place your order now, if the seat is not available I will, of course, refund your money. I do not have the prices all figured out but trust me, they are GOOD(like 30-40% off). Maybe even buy one just to have a spare, before they go obsolete? Ride to the edge! Dave Iowa HD/Buell (Buell Cycle Center) |

Might be interested in an S1 custom sols seat. Dave, What's the price on an S1 wiring harness? I'm sure my S3 harness will work on the S1 frame. I'm just trying to be as authentic as possible on the rebuild. Dennis |

Dave, I'll take an M2 seat with either blue or black piping. Maybe more seats, depending on when I get my first paycheck... Also, I'll be out this winter for your events, can't wait to see you guys! |

Do they make an M2 seat with a backrest sufficient for a passenger to lean back against? If so what price range? Haven't been happy with the Corbin offerings or price ranges. |

Sales Pitch from a satisfied customer... I picked up the accessory seat for my X1 last summer and really love it for long distance and two up riding. No need to go to the expense of a Cobin, this is a high quality seat from Saddleman (aka Travelcade) in So Cal. Incidentally, just like the Corbin users, the only time I want to switch back to the original seat is when I am planning a hot ride in the twisties. I prefer the ability to shift around on the saddle for hanging off, etc. and the stock saddle is perfect for that when riding solo. One last note. The accessory seat came without the stud and locking nut that interfaces with the locking mechanism. No big deal, it only takes a few minutes to swap saddles and studs but I for around $6.50 I bought an extra stud and nut from Hal's (of interest they had one, just one, in stock) and that makes swapping saddles a breeze. The only tool you need is the ignition key! So, if you are thinking of picking up the accessory seat, I highly recommend it. It is a bargain at Buell's list price and with a discount like Dave is referring to...You would be a fool for passing on the opportunity |

Mike...No need to be concerned with a Butt Stop, er, Back rest on the accessory seat. The passenger scoop is quite secure as is the texture of the cover (read: sliding around is almost impossible). The passenger naturally assumes a similar riding position as the rider and tends to hold onto your "Tiney Hiney" which can be quite romantic. Back rests on sport bikes and many cruisers are more a physical pain in the back than they are worth. The only time I have found them to be of value is under hard acceleration from low speed when you forget to warn the passenger of your intent. Almost lost my second wife that way on the FJ1200. Yet, she hated them on the old Wide Glide, Intruder and Concours. Other than that, they can become safety hazards in the event of an accident. Is interesting how the rider gets ejected and slides to safety while the passenger is trapped and rides it out. To counter this situation with a backrest, it has been recommended to practice bail out maneuvers on the lawn. On your command (and only on your command), the passenger simply stands up, and ejects to the rear or inside of the turn, and lands as if sliding into second base. Once the passenger bails out, it is your turn. All is not doom and gloom. It is just a preventative measure that can be taken to increase survival rates. With your conservative approach to riding, you may never get into a situation like this. However in the event the unexpected happens, discussing the issue ahead of time helps because in the moment of truth, you don't have the luxury of time to explain how, when and why. Just a never-so-humble opinion of an old fart that has been there and seen that. Fortunately, in this circumstance I was able to learn from the mistakes of others. |

Sgt, The sale lasts til they run out or Jan 25th I think. Call me asap when you can pull the trigger and I'll do my best to get one for you. I do not have these seats in stock and am ordering them as needed so they could run out at any time. As I posted above, if you order one and I can't get it for you I'll just have to refund the money. So far I think I'm up to 13 seats sold, not counting Char! Ride to the edge! Dave Iowa HD/Buell (Buell Cycle Center)
