Wow. Thanks for sharing. For those wondering what that incredible tower is like me... There is Eiffel tower in Paris, probably the most famous tower in the world. But for most of people living in Soviet Union there was another tower that they knew even better than Eiffel’s one. It was a Moscow city Ostankino Tower. Standing 1772 feet (540 metres) tall, it was the tallest free-standing structure in the whole world until in 2003 there was build another one, taller, in Canada. Still it is the tallest alone standing structure in Europe and Asia. |

Nice pictures. But in the fourth one down, are those nuclear reactor cooling towers right in the middle of a housing complex? If so, I imagine the occupants get a pretty good deal on rent |

I was just kidding of course - but I do reckon tricking the camera's white balance is fun. City light's wavelength makes images shift to that yellowey brown. You can do the same thing in photoshop, but fooling the camera setup is cool too. To manually white balance most digital cameras you photograph a piece of white paper in the prevailing light and tell it the result is 'white'. Camera shifts the spectrum to compensate. Then if you want to get real tricky - photograph some colored paper and let it do the shifts. That's how I got this one.

Is that a NASCAR type track around the lake towards the bottom of the page? You mean he wasn't using a Wal-mart disposable camera? LOL! mark61 |
