They are pulling bikes over here daily . .if it "sounds loud" it's on the flatbed and incumbent on you to prove it's legal.

Loud pipes risk rights..... you can't blame people for getting pissed off about it.

We only have "ourselves" to blame

Yep

I love the sound a V-Twin screaming down the road... Whats music to my ears is noise to someone else. Blasting down the highway is one thing but I bet the noise bouncing off all those building gets to be quite annoying for some people....

Just a few bringing attention to themselves brings attention to all of us... I like to stay UNDER the radar as much as possible

Hmm... I read the first half, and thus far everything they mention gets on my nerves as well. Stunting in public? Hell yeah, nail those morons before they crash into me ! Revving at stoplights? Goofballs just desperate for attention, but a ticket seems kinda' severe. Loud pipes? I could do without that headache. For those that ride for enjoyment rather than image, I don't see much to worry about (in the 1st half of the draft, anyway).

Since exhaust noise is emitted behind the motorcycle, these drivers do not hear the loud pipes then how come when I drive home my neighbors hear me coming? How come when I rev the engine the cars in front of me hear me and move?

Too much emotion and very little, if any, empirical research.

All right, I read a bit and saw this:
"If a court of competent jurisdiction or the environmental control board determines that there was indeed a violation, the motorcycle must be released upon payment of any imposed fine or civil penalty. Seized items also must be released while an action or proceeding remains pending, upon the posting of bond or other form of security sufficient to cover the maximum civil penalty or fine that may potentially be imposed. However, a motorcycle will be subject to forfeiture upon notice and a judicial determination that a violator has been found liable for violating this section on one or more prior occasions. In other words, recidivist violators risk automatic forfeiture."

Is this saying, if you are caught more than one time having loud pipes then you risk automatic forfeiture of the bike?? WTF!

I hate riding in NY the summer! The last few days have been torture. : (

Might be time to move to Connecticut, they have no helmet law! (Still ATGATT)
