I recently had a flat about 250 miles from home and I said NEVER AGAIN! So I bought a set of Conti Road Attacks from these guys. I think the total including shipping came to around $400. When they first arrived I couldnt resist... I shoved my finger right into the gel. It left a nice finger print. First thing to mention is that they add a few pounds to the tires. Maybe only 2 lbs per, but the weight is noticeable when the tire is your hands. Not noticeable on the road, however. Second, and very lucky for me, the gel seems to self level in the tire to the point that balancing is not necessary. I say important for me because I'm still stationed in Turkey and I shit you not, they do not balance motorcycle tires here! I've put around 1000 miles on my tires since I put them on in November. I havnt tested their ability to seal a flat on purpose but I did pick up a 1" sliver of glass in my front tire. I have no idea if 1" is long enough to penetrate and cause a flat but having faith in the rhino lining I grabbed some pliers and pulled the glass out. 2 Weeks ago. Not a single PSI has left the tire. I bought them for piece of mind. I never want to have my bike up on wooden blocks while the village tire man applies super glue and swears it will hold again! Oh and I forgot to mention, they probably arent even worth the piece of mind if you buy them in anything other than a sport touring tire. 5000+ Miles minimum. Not very cost effective if you buy a pilot power that will only last 2500 miles. |

If the gel seems to be self-leveling what happens if you let the bike sit for 3, 4, or 6 months will it hold good enough to still be ride able or will it all go to the bottom of the tire? |

Notice the seemingly pre-historic / Neanderthal like tools lying in the rocks near the bike? Thats how the re-install went. I counted 16 chips in the powder coat!! I had no choice though. Have them fix it, or catch a ride 150 miles to the nearest tire dealing village. As for the gel self leveling - I mean that when they spray the gel into the tire they must spin it up and level it out because with no balancing whatsoever, its perfectly stable up to the lawless speeds on the Turkish autobahn. |

Hhhm good point what if it all goes to the bottom and it gets a terrible balance problem? Can it be removed! Lol blocks and wow the tools HOLY CRAP!! |

I am not supprised that the PC got nicked, MY nomar has dinged the PC on my PM rims, That had to be an interesting process, watching the guy remove the tire from the rim to get to the damage how long did it take them? Chris Thanks for your service, Note to self I will never whine about having to wrestle a tire again. |

Notice the seemingly pre-historic / Neanderthal like tools lying in the rocks near the bike? i noticed that they used what appears to be a new 4x4 to hold up the right side of the bike. pretty spiffy! i also note the BFH (big frikkin' hammer) lying in the dirt to the right of the bike. not much on a Buell you can't fix (or at least 'adjust') with a BFH. was the problem with the tire beyond the scope of a good tire repair kit? It took the guy about 25 seconds to pedal his bike (WITH A FLAT TIRE!!! LOL) to the hooka shop where I stopped at to ask for help. Then about 20 minutes to get the tire off. I stood on the kick stand side to make sure the bike didnt fall over while one guy pulled on the tire and the other swung the hammer with two hands. It was scary violent. 15 minutes of fumbling around inside the tire and another 20 minutes of waiting for the rubber cement to dry, or whatever it is they used to seal the hole. The hole itself wasnt bad at all. I carry a stop n go patch kit with the spark plug adapter for an air hose, but it turned out I left the patches on the table as I was packing. Oh well, I say. Just chalked it up to another adventure! |

Thats definitely NOT me. I think its the Father of the kid working on the tire..... Funny that you point out his face considering he owns the shop. |

When I was in high school, I worked at a tire shop where we sold a ton of Uniroyals. They made a tire called "Royal Seal" that worked just like that. It worked too. I don't know if they make them anymore. |

I don't know if they make them anymore. Me too and I did see a couple that didn't work. Talk about a PITA trying to get those things to seal back up again when the "self sealing" didn't work. |

Gosh! That looks like the village I live in, I posted pictures of the local car guy that used the street sign to pull the motor out of a car. |
