I have been looking all over the new R1. Me like. Crossplane sounds fun! But here is my question, All thru the marketing crap they keep insisting the 09 R1 is the first and only bike to use two projector style headlamps. The first to use "rounded" lens.  The first??? Have they ever seen a firebolt before??? So friggen what? "We have a great new engine that sounds wicked and generates great low end TQ. We also invented headlights" IMHO, running around telling everybody that you got firebolt headlights might not the best idea. Or am I totally off base? | ||

They are both on all the time. Has a movable shield or iris to change from low to high beams. When they were announced the XB area was trying to decide on adapting those healights to their R's. Those bikes do have appeal, all that power and sounds nice for an inline. | ||

You didn't read ALL the literature. They were the first to use projector beam headlights THAT WORKED.  | ||

LOL, I never noticed the new headlights. And everyone kept saying how the 1125R's headlights looked like an R1. | ||

They also mention low slung exhaust, to lower the center of gravity. What a great idea. Wish the guy that made my bike thought of that like 25 years ago... | ||

Imagine being faced with the 2 ugly sisters, one of em staring at you, & the other one giving you the wink! Plus whenever you go out with your R1 riding friends everybody but everybody is going to tell you your headlight is out. | ||
