I think those that are forced to listen to Holiday music all day should be given Combat Stress Syndrome pay (not to mention working in retail this time of year . .. . what is it that turns so many people into ill-mannered jerks while shopping? sheesh).

me, if it was MY store, I'd play AC/DC REALLY LOUD during the holiday . . .get in, find what you want, buy it, and get the hell out!

(grin)

Well the boss, Elaine not Doug thinks it puts people in the shopping/buying mood.
Me, it puts me in the mood to start drinking again.

The secret to Christmas shopping, go really late in the day. All the battlecruisers will be bruised and worn out from the cart/bag battles earlier in the day, and the only people left will be the browsers, grazers, and worn out shoppers.

The secret to surviving holiday music, wear your helmet with the visor down. Yes, at work, call it modeling the helmet. Headphones work too.

Heard a good jingle on the way in to work this morning, by some comedian called Bobby Gaylore, or something like that. Don't know what station it was on because I was in the middle of my search for music instead of having to listen to the "Stupids Do Radio in the Morning" clusterflocks so many stations seem to have. Crap like "hey, I woke up and put on one dark brown sock and one medium brown sock then spilled coffee on the darker one but figured nobody would notice so I just wore it in, wanna see it?" "yeah? well I actually saw someone on the freeway this morning at 5:17am trying to put on their right sock while drinking a cup of coffee and talking on their cell phone" "did they crash?" "what color was the sock?" "oh I don't know I took the next exit" "laughter from the 14 dj's they have crammed into the sound booth" "whew, Fred, put your shoes back on because your feet stink" "laughter" "yeah, but my socks match" "laughter" "snort" "I just snorted coffee out my nose" "laughter". Crapola. I'd rather listen to holiday music than that stupid morning radio crap-talk. Bah, humbug, grumble grumble.
Have a nice day.

Plan to do the jingle search at lunchtime. Was pretty good, and accurate, from what I recall.

I have told them that but alas, I've been vetoed.
It's like every so often someone switches the radio station to a different station and they play some really bad stuff, I usually start to throw a fit when Barry Manilow(sp) comes on. I go running thru the dealership yelling, turn it off, turn it off! Gets a lot of looks from the customers! Usually results in them changing the station back to the good rock one.

Once in a while the radio actually gets turned to a country station, that really gets me yelling.

Ride to the edge!

If you live down South, you have the pleasure of hearing the Christmas classics performed by the all the Country/Western chart toppers as you shop or eat.

I did enjoy the Ozzie Ozbourne / Jessica Simpson "Walking In A Winter Wonderland" duet I saw on MTV the other night.

+ =

It was on those surreal Holiday moments....like David Bowie and Bing Crosby singing "Little Drummer Boy."

Happy Ho Ho, Ya'll!

Oh, one of the CDs of Xmas music we have had to suffer is "A Country Christmas"
Man, those songs really suck!
I can feel the brain cells being pulled from my skull every time that CD comes on.

I wore ear molds in the office to defeat the undesirable music. Worked well. Also helped with the concentration factor.

On the lighter side, a group of us approached the owner of our favorite restaurant/watering hole and told him if he didn't cut the Christmas music, we were taking our business elsewhere until January. It Worked!!!

Nothing worse than being exposed to it in every friggin retail store in America and then having to suffer through it during a time of high priced, discretionary income spending relaxation. Yuck.

people here now tis the season to be at least somewhat happy....

For those who want a twist on the seasonal tunes....

look for Bob Rivers(comedy corp)! You will be shocked, amzed, amused. Makes Weird Al look pathetic!

Tunes like the following:

{I am}Santa Claus (Ironman)
Walking Around in Womens Underclothes
Police Stoppa My Car (that Jose F fellow)
Manger 6 (Motel 6 commercial)
Wreck The Malls (Deck The Walls)
Toy Sack (Love Shack)
Grahbe Yahbalz
Jingle Hells Bells (take a guess here)
O little Town Of Bethlehem (House..the Rising Sun)
All You Need is Elves (the beatles maybe...)
Buttcracker Suite
Joy To The World (hard rock instrumental)
O Come all ye Greatful Dead Heads
Grandpa Got Run Over By A Beer Truck

many more memorable tunes, not just the seasonal stuff either...How about:

Cats in the kettle (Cats in the Cradle)
Burgers on the Grill (Riders on the Storm)
Cows with Guns (rolling on floor good!)
Inflatable Women (American Women)
Lets Go Smoke Some Pot (At The Hop)
