I am WELL versed in the laws where I live

On a side note, Maryland must have really went down the the crapper since I left in 1989. I remember going hunting, driving around with rifles in the gun rack in the rear window, shooting all types of handguns at the ranges...

One good thing about Florida, you DO have a right to defend yourself!

Maryland is in the crapper. Montgomery County is ovverrun with gangs, see Wheaton, gaithersburg, PG County is worse than ever, Harford County had Section 8 exported to it and way down the tubes. The only places that havent changed much are Poolesville and Dundalk, thank God!

Obama and the Demo majority scared me into quickly buying an S&W while I can. Rifle and ammo next. Maybe that is what they are really doing to help the economy?

As far as defending your business & home from a mob of rioters..... property, even if it's all you own, is not worth death. Yours or the robbers. Some may disagree.

I do disagree. However, I live in the same state as Babired, that being Maryland, and I'm not allowed to protect my property. Unlike you, I would have no hesitation in doing so if allowed by law. There are a few things that really get under my skin, such as people that steal for profit, people that intentionally harm the health of others, crooked politicians, etc. I have no use for these people and as far as I'm concerned we'd all be better off if we rid ourselves of their company. Cancer must be cut out or it spreads and infects healthy tissue and so it is with criminals.

Washington DC has some real gun control, and look at their crime rates.

Kennesaw, GA requires by law you must own a gun and ammo.

Interesting...

There isn't any industry left except one steel mill owned by the Russians. It's all government employees and corporations/colleges that feed from the federal government trough. The state government is a Democrat controlled monopoly that leans further to the far left with each passing election. The only reason I stay here is because the wages are relatively high and the state is less prone to the full negative affects of economic downturns.

...show how relaxed our gun laws really are.

Krocket, glad you have relaxed gun laws. I don't. I live in the Imperial State, New York. I am required to be very, very sure that I have respected the rights of the felon raping someone in my living room. I'm not allowed a variety of things you may be able to buy in the local hardware store, and BOTH of my Senators, ( one is quiting to become Sec. State ) are rabid anti gunners and the senior Senator, Chuck-you Schumer is rather famous for publicly mocking those fools who believe in the
Constitution.

I do admit I'm a bit firm in my opinions. Some people are uptight about abortion...on both sides of the issue. For others, gay marriage.

I'm a history buff. I have yet to find 1 single example of a state disarming it's citizens that resulted in increased freedom, reduced crime, or them remaining citizens, and not being down graded to serf or subject status. Not one. If you know of one, let me know.

The machine guns on display at knob creek are federal licensed, the owners have to go through an actual background check, and AFAIK no licensed machine gun has killed anyone in the U.S. since the laws were enacted back during the roaring twenties.

I'm grateful the nice guys at knob creek are enthusiastic and are kind enough to allow others to share in their very expensive & loud hobby. Imagine if you had to get a license before you could even try to ride a motorcycle.

I pity rural NY and CA residents. They live by the whim of the city-folk that do not care a whit about thier lifestyle. If it ain't in the city, it's not important.

Yep Spatten, as someone who lives "upstate", I do find some laws to be ridiculous. Not a gun owner and I don't plan on owning a gun, but it annoys me that if the time came that I wanted one; it would be easier to move to Mexico to get one.

I took this photo during Buelltoberfest, right down the road from the Dragon. I couldn't believe you could get a hunting license with your Big Mac. New12r even said "Where else would you get it?"

You may be on to something . . . read my story about trying to buy ammo in Kansas last week. Everywhere I went. . . "sorry, we sell out of .357 Mag everyday round about noon".

I was finally able to get cases of several different handguns loads, rifle and shotgun loads and what a pleasure it was to be OUT of NYC and see the guys in the gun shop all packing.

By the way if anyone around NYC is looking for 3-1/2" BB Mags. . . I bought a couple boxes of the wrong thing.

Having worked in more than 80 countries I under stand what we are losing more than any one else, I sure feel sorry for my children and grand children. I hope we can ward a lot of the things the liberals want till after my pasing. I damn well will not give up my arsenal of guns and ammo. at my age I sure as hell will hurt some one if force is used on my ranch.

Froggy, it is not difficult to get guns in our county in "upstate NY". A 3 hour course through the Sheriff's Office is all that is required to get a pistol permit (target not carry). Full carry is not that difficult either if you can show a need and the defintion of need for the time being is pretty loose. All you need for a long gun is a driver's license and a clean background.

NYC is a different story. Unless you have big $$$$$$$$$$, you can fugghetaboutit.

Of course McCain won in our county, but what's that got to do with anyhting?
