I went to ASBN last night. It was cool, lots of great bikes to see. I go to leave and as I turn the corner realize I've got a flat (my first) As I'm trying to find a safe place to pull over, I see a bike coming up behind me. We get to a light and the guy asks me if I'm gonna make it home. He follows me into a parking lot where we discover the tire is all the way flat. He offers to get me a can of fix-a-flat and follow me most of the way home. I was a little worried so I'm doing 60 and I'm sure this guy just wants to get home. Anyway to get to the point-if I was in a car I'd most likely be screwed. Being a new rider it's amazing how helpfull everybody is on a bike. So I don't know if he's on the bad web but just wanted to say thanks and anytime your out my way Let me know maybe I could buy you a beer or lunch. I felt alot better knowing you were back there watching out for me. BTW his name was John and he rides a nice xb9 with a Micron so if anybody knows him tell him thanks for me.

It's likely you will never see him again.
I've always found that if I treat people the way I want them to treat me, it mostly works pretty good.
What comes around goes around.

What I'm trying to say is that if you don't get the chance to thank John, don't worry about it. Just try to help out another rider when the opportunity arises. It's all good.

Tom,

This is Jon from ASBN. Not, the John who helped you; I MC'ed last night. I'm real glad to hear of the support you received last night. It's the people that make ASBN what it is. You'll see him again if you come out again I'm sure.

I'm glad we had the pleasure of your company last night, bro.

Did ya win anything?

You'll never see him again as he is only an apparition(sp). Well you might see him again but you won't know it's him as he will look different and be on a different bike. He has no name and is known by none. He roams the highways and byways on his trusty two wheeler searching for bikers in distress. Since he has choosen you to be worthy of his help, it is customary for you to help him in his work. Good luck and congratulations on being one of the choosen ones.

That's OK --I know John and will pass on your thanks. He is usually around our shop once a week.

Jon, I won a t-shirt at the last one and a DVD at this one. Not that I go for that reason. Mostly go to see the bikes and meet and talk to people who've been riding longer than me. Great group of guys and gals. it is customary for you to help him in his work I would be glad to be one of the chosen to lend a hand when a fellow rider is in need. To bad people don't have the same attitude to helping each other when in a car/truck.

Hey Jim,

Your girlfriend is a real nice lady and did a great job on helping out with the tickets. She fit right in. Of course I forgot my reading glasses again, duh!

With all the talking I did not get an opportunity to do my JT&S Performance video, but I will send it up to you on a CD to the shop for your use. It's my first attempt at this sort of thing and not professional quality...but not bad, either! We'll get it on at one of the next ASBN's.

Felt bad about the cake debacle...Terry committed last month, I didn't know as I wasn't there and lo and behold we had enough cake to feed 140 people let alone the 70 odd we had!
