I work at Iet labs on stuff that was originally made by Gen Rad. I was surprised just now by a 1689 Digibridge that belongs to H-D from the Capitol drive plant. Cool eh? |

What exactly is a 1689 Digibridge? |

Oops. I work with them all the time so I just take it for granted that everyone knows what it is/does. It is an instrument that measures resistance, capacitance, and inductance. http://ietlabs.com/Genrad/1689.html I already fixed it. They passed a large amount of current through the thing and blew an etch off of the main board. |

I hate it when that happens. |

Sounds like that would fall under the category of "they let the smoke out of it". |

yup. The protection diodes clamped it to ground to successfully protect the rest of the circuitry. It's a good design. This particular one was made in 1993. |
